Optimus Prosthetics Welcomes a New Practitioner - who brings some exciting technology with him

We are very pleased to welcome our newest Prosthetist back home.  Glen Schober, CP, returns to Dayton following a 5-year sabbatical from clinical practice.  Having worked with leaders in the area of elevated vacuum suspension and CAD/CAM with laser scanning technology, Schober returns to the Miami Valley with this new expertise and past experience in superior patient care.

One of Schober's first tasks upon joining the Optimus Team was to implement the laser scanning technology.

As Glenn explains:

Just taking measurements of the limb has never been enough. Taking cast impressions is widely accepted but is dependent on the hand skills of the prosthetist taking the cast. Laser scanning, on the other hand, is accurate within 0.5mm, is reproducible, and has provided the best fitting sockets that I've ever seen in my 20 years serving patients as a prosthetist.

The laser scanning technology also allows us to offer 'Rapid Fit' appointments in which we combine the first two appointments into one. This means that the patient is fitted with their prosthesis a week sooner which also allows them to start gait training with their therapist sooner.

Glenn's expertise with CAD/CAM techniques will certainly contribute significantly to Optimus' vision of becoming the leader in offering superior, leading edge prosthetic patient care in the markets we serve.

Optimus Set to Open Columbus Office
Tim Riedlinger
Tim Riedlinger, CPO, is excited to announce the new Optimus Prosthetics, Columbus office.  Opening in January, 2013, it will serve individuals with limb-loss in Central Ohio with the same level of skill, integrity, and compassion that has come to be expected from the Optimus name. Tim provided prosthetic and orthotic services in the Columbus area for 16 years prior to joining the Optimus team 2 years ago, and will serve as the Clinical Manager of the new location.

Tim states, "I'm excited to return to Columbus.  In doing so with Optimus, I have found a partnership that reflects my traditional values, passion in providing innovative technology, and simply treating people the way I would want to be treated."

Optimus' new office is located at 3132 Olentangy River Road
