Hello MASWA Members!

It is already mid-July. Can you believe it? It means we are half way through our cherished Minnesota summer. Uffda!

I have a salsa garden on my deck and the pepper plants have grown out of control. Not only are they plentiful, but they are also huge. I also have three tomato plants and they are loaded with fruit. I don't have red tomatoes yet, but I have a feeling when they start to turn I will have salsa and BLT's coming out of my ears! I also planted pots filled with herbs, so I can cook with my own home grown herbs all year long. I have basil, fennel, two types of parsley, rosemary, thyme, tarragon, mint, and oregano. It smells so good on the deck and we don't have hornets or bees bothering us. It is a great project for children and they get to eat their produce and freeze the herbs or dry them for use throughout the year.

The MASWA board is looking forward to our annual retreat when we will be reviewing the by-laws and job descriptions. We have several new members on the board and we want all of them to get up to speed as quickly as possible. Focusing on the by-laws will give all of us the knowledge we need to plan MASWA activities for another year. The retreat will be held on July 21, 2016.

Not far behind the retreat is our next membership meeting and it will be a lot of fun. It is the 8 minute Marketing meeting. Bring lots of business cards and literature you can give everyone. This meeting is a great way for everyone to get the word out about your business and get to know fellow members. It will be a fast paced meeting and very busy! You will have the ability to reach out and touch 12 different people during the meeting. Remember to be on time to get the most out of this meeting. It will be on July 28, 2016 and starts at 2:20 pm and lasts until 4:00 pm at our usual meeting place, Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley.

I hope you are all having a fantastic summer and I'm looking forward to seeing you on the 28th.
