August is finally upon us! These are the days of the last few weeks at the lake, the Great Minnesota Get-Together, and preparing for the kids to get back to school! Hopefully this has been a fun-filled summer for you!

TOPIC:   Dementia, Impairment, & the Capacity to Sign Legal Documents

Objectives:
  • Identify what level of capacity is required to sign various documents
  • Understand the meaning of different levels of capacity as defined by law
  • Understand the impact that lack of capacity, impairment, or dementia can have concerning documents commonly signed by patients or residents

 PRESIDENT'S MONTHLY NOTE
 

 

This week while driving to an appointment I heard a radio ad for the State Fair.  With the State Fair signifying, to the State of Minnesota, that summer is ending I ask the question "where did summer go"?  If you are anything like me you are in the midst of school clothes and supplies shopping. Getting ready for the kids first days back will be here before we know it.  While we are all looking for the last orange folder that your child needs for class, the Fall Aging Conference Steering Committee is hard at work finalizing all of the details for the 41st  Annual Conference.  

 

While you are searching for 18 glue sticks don't forget about our August 27th meeting.  As usual, we will have a wonderful speaker, plenty of professionals to network with and some amazing treats.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Our Annual Fall Aging Conference is just around the corner.  Please mark your calendars for Thursday, October 22, 2015 for what is sure to be an eye opening discussion exploring the assumptions we make in our daily lives.  

 

All of us work hard to help our loved ones. Those we serve in our community grow old with grace, purpose, and joy.  The conference will offer in-depth information allowing us to analyze aging and offer different types of care based on the needs of seniors today.
