PRESIDENT'S MONTHLY NOTE | |
This letter marks my personal definition of half way through summer. I like to think that I am taking advantage of the many outdoor activities that Minnesota has to offer (and we look forward to all winter). I was encouraged to see many, many faces at our joint public policy meeting where we learned from Jean Wood, DHS Aging and Adult Services Division, about the legislative wrap up and how it will impact older adults in Minnesota. There are many changes that have happened and many to come. Thank you to the Joint Public Policy committee for arranging Jean to speak to us about this important topic that will impact us all. July also will hold our MASWA board's annual retreat. At our retreat on July 30th, the board will take a look at the past year - we will reflect and celebrate our successes, learn from our mistakes and challenges and put a plan together for the upcoming year. If you have any feedback or recommendations, please bring them forward to myself or another board member. I am looking forward to our membership meeting this coming week and hope to see you there!
