BREWSTER DAY CAMP Newsletter August 1, 2016 Vol. 35 Issue 15
|

Hey Brewster Day Camp! This Friday is OLYMPIC DAY! At BDC, we foster global citizenship by encouraging campers to learn, respect, and embrace traditions and cultures of different countries. On Olympic Day, we create groups of campers diverse in gender and age who represent different countries and CHEER for their team and others!. Despite many differences in our world, the olympic organization transcends geopolitical ideas by providing a common ground through sports and fans who CHEER on their team! Olympic Day at BDC strives to emulate the olympic organization's goals. The Olympic Organization states, "The goal of the olympic movement is to contribute to a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport practiced without discrimination or any kind, in a spirit of friendship, solidarity, and fair play." Campers on Friday will learn about the country they represent along with their peer's countries by writing skits, songs, and playing sports against other teams! As you CHEER for USA this week during the International Olympic Games, I challenge you to learn about another country and maybe even CHEER for them as well!
CHGsP! Milisa 'misa' Galazzi, Director Brewster Day Camp PS: Not yet enrolled? Call 508-896-6555 or email us here.
