'Cause camp is insane.

Feeling LIVELY on Sailors Hill often looks like silly girls mugging for the camera on the low ropes course at BDOC!

...and feeling LIVELY on Admirals Hill looks like this!

LEARN TO GOLF AT BDC THIS SUMMER!

Golf lessons at BDC are taught by a PGA Golf Pro in partnership with the Captains Golf Course in Brewster. Appropriately sized clubs will be provided as part of the lesson, though campers are invited to bring their own clubs to camp on the day of the lesson. Lessons are offered each Thursday afternoon and cost $45 per week. Please contact the Camp Office for more details, or to sign up. Space is limited so sign up today!
Camper Expectations

Please remind your camper that BDC has three simple Camper Expectations. In short, they are:
*BE FUN
*BE KIND
*BE SAFE
Your Welcome Letter and Camper Handbook for Life on the Hills explains these expectations in more detail.
Hello BDC Family and Friends,

Welcome, one and all, to Week #4 at Brewster Day Camp! We are almost to the halfway point of camp (can you believe it?!) and everywhere I look I see LIVELY bunches of campers and counselors enjoying these carefree summer days!

Each morning on the Welcome Walk, I see parents dropping off LIVELY campers eager to begin their camp days.

This past Friday we celebrated Creative Arts Day and I watched our campers and staff sharing in this day with artists from the local community and from afar. The artist's passion, or LIVELINESS, for his or her craft translated into such a LIVELY learning experience for all who shared the day with us. Such a marvelous sight to behold!

These are truly the halcyon days of summer and it is my sheer delight to spend my days with these campers and counselors, on this lovely and LIVELY campus. If you are joining us this this week...Welcome!  If life sends you exploring other roads this summer, know that you are here with us at 3570 Main Street in spirit!

Until I see you on the Welcome Walk again, I am wishing you a LIVELY summery splash of...

SURF SCHOOL will be held on Tuesday, July 14th. Surfers will depart BDC for Nauset Beach in Orleans at 12:30 and return at 5:30.  Please call the BDC Office at (508) 896-6555 for more details. Spots are filling up quickly!
BDC's ANIMAL FIND of the WEEK hails from the Herb Farm in Brewster. Did you know that healthy chickens lay an average of 265 eggs a year?  That's a lot of scrambled eggs!
NEW THIS SUMMER!

Due to the ongoing construction of our neighbor, the Bible Alliance Church, the parking lot of the church is unavailable to families this summer. Join us as we meet this new challenge and continue to make our parking lot a safe place!

Here are some changes at BDC due to lack of parking:

1. BDC families may only use our parking lot for daily camper drop off and pick ups. Please use the Hello&Go in the morning as often as you can for quick drop offs.

2. Please follow the directions of the BDC Parking Lot Attendants in the orange vests who skillfully direct all cars.

3. Any Camp Office business which can be conducted on the phone or in person between the hours of 10a.m. and 3p.m. is greatly appreciated!

4. Parking for Family Swim will begin at 5:00 in our parking lot.

5. End of the day popcorn sales are suspended this season. However, popcorn will be offered as a special snack on occasion and sold during the Final Camp Picnic in order to continue to raise money for BDC Camperships.

We will periodically update you with how this is all going! Thanks for your understanding as BDC continues to be a good neighbor!

THANK YOU

for helping BDC keep our parking lot SAFE!

General BDC Reminders

FOOD: Please serve a big breakfast, pack a morning snack for campers older than 7 years and a hearty lunch! Campers use MUCH more energy at camp and need more food than during the school year. BIG LUNCHES are needed especially for older campers!

CAMPUS: Please use the gravel paths around camp, especially leading up to Mariners Hill. Help us keep our limited grassy space looking lush and healthy all summer long!

CELL PHONES: We are a cell phone free campus for campers and staff! If campers and families need to reach each other during the camp day, the BDC Office is ready to relay the message. Cell phones are to stay at home. Thanks!
