ANIMAL FIND of the WEEK: This baby BLUE CRAB was found on the shore during an Admirals Hill Afternoon Choice activity. BLUE CRABS, also known as the Chesapeake blue crab or the Atlantic blue crab, are strong swimmers due to their fifth pair of legs which are shaped like paddles. The blue crab's scientific name Callinectes sapidus means "beautiful savory swimmer."

NEW THIS SUMMER!
Due to the ongoing construction of our neighbor, the Bible Alliance Church, the parking lot of the church is unavailable to families this summer. Join us as we meet this new challenge and continue to make our parking lot a safe place!
Due to lack of parking this season, we will:
1. BDC families may only use our parking lot for daily camper drop off and pick ups. Please use the Hello&Go in the morning as often as you can for quick drop offs.
2. Please follow the directions of the BDC Parking Lot Attendants in the orange vests who skillfully direct all cars.
3. Any Camp Office business which can be conducted on the phone or in person between the hours of 10a.m. and 3p.m. is greatly appreciated!
4. Parking for Family Swim will begin promptly at 5:00 in our parking lot.
5. End of the day popcorn sales are suspended this season. However, popcorn will be offered as a special snack on occasion and sold during the Final Camp Picnic in order to continue to raise money for BDC Camperships.
We will periodically update you with how this is all going! Thanks for your understanding as BDC continues to be a good neighbor!

A wide variety of activities and a little imagination, leads to an ABUNDANCE of silliness from campers! |
BDC's first WATER WIZZ trip of the season is THIS THURSDAY, July 9th. Water Wizz is located in Wareham, MA, and is Cape Cod's closest water theme park with hundreds of vertical feet of thrills and spills! BDC campers are in excellent care with our one counselor to six camper ratio for absolute child safety. If you have any questions, or have a camper who would like to join us on the trip, please call the camp office at (508) 896-6555 or email us here. |

Greetings BDC Campers and Parents!
As we enter Week #3 at BDC, the living is right! We are basking in the sunshine, playing in the puddles, and enjoying the ABUNDANCE of life and laughter together here on campus. Our pool is sparkling, our on-campus Edible Garden is in full-bloom, and the sights and sounds of camp are in the air!
Motivational speaker, Wayne Dyer, maintains, "Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune in to..." and here at Brewster Day Camp, we totally agree!
True ABUNDANCE is found in the sound of children's laughter, the high-five down at Archery, the sounds of cheerful team spirit on the ball field, the joy of discovery at ECOD, the sand, water, and sea breezes of activities down at BASE...the sheer ABUNDANCE of experiences for all campers throughout their day.
Come share in the ABUNDANCE of our perfect BDC camp days! If life takes you other places this summer, look for the ABUNDANCE of life around you!
Until we see you again, we wish you an ABUNDANCE of...
CHGS+P,
Milisa 'misa' Galazzi, Director
Brewster Day Camp

One word: ABUNDANCE!

Leaving Campus Early... HELP US HELP YOU!
Many, many campers venture off campus in the afternoons. If you would like your camper to leave camp early, PLEASE take a moment to call or stop by the BDC Office to let us know as early as possible. This allows us to make sure your camper stays on campus and is waiting for you at the office. Thanks!
|
Many of our campers and counselors stop to savor the ABUNDANCE of our BDC Edible Garden, which was planted by the H.O.W.L.S Program--and is now tended by Sophie Olmstead and her ECOD campers. Make sure you check it out!

General BDC Reminders
FOOD: Please serve a big breakfast, pack a morning snack for campers older than 7 years and a hearty lunch! Campers use MUCH more energy at camp and need more food than during the school year. BIG LUNCHES are needed especially for older campers!
CAMPUS: Please use the gravel paths around camp, especially leading up to Mariners Hill. Help us keep our limited grassy space looking lush and healthy all summer long!
CELL PHONES:
We are a cell phone free campus for campers and staff! If campers and families need to reach each other during the camp day, the BDC Office is ready to relay the message. Cell phones are to stay at home. Thanks!
|
An ABUNDANCE of teamwork and long-time friendships exist among our Admirals Hill campers! |
Interested in attending the Friday Morning Assembly? Come join us!
Families interested in attending the Friday morning Assembly are more than welcome to take advantage of Hello & Go for campers eager to begin their day. Then, beginning at 9:00 a.m., feel free to park in BDC's parking lot and join us!
|
An ABUNDANCE of good spirit in the pool!

Camper Expectations
Please remind your camper that BDC has three simple Camper Expectations. In short, they are:
*BE FUN
*BE KIND
*BE SAFE
Your Welcome Letter and Camper Handbook for Life on the Hills explains these expectations in more detail.
