"It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness."

ANIMAL FIND of the WEEK: Admirals Hill campers went snorkeling at Pleasant Bay in Chatham and found these HORSESHOE CRABS everywhere they looked! Did you know, Horseshoe Crabs are more closely related to spiders than to crabs AND as a species they are purported to be as old as the dinosaurs!

These Admirals Hill campers and counselor look DELIGHTED to be spending time together on a perfectly sunny camp day.

This Thursday, BDC will celebrate Wampanoag Day at camp. During the morning, all of the camp clocks will be removed. Like the native people who lived on this land before us, on this day we teach children by taking away the pressure and constraints of time. On Wampanoag Day at BDC "the time it takes is the time it takes." This Thursday, campers will move freely from one activity to the next enjoying each moment to its fullest!

The wonderful relationships fostered between campers and counselors are what make camp so DELIGHTFUL and such a joy to be a part of!
General BDC Reminders

Even on cloudy days, it is important to remain vigilant about hydrating! Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day. If you are with us here at BDC, we have you covered with spring water coolers, located around campus! Or bring a water bottle from home and use it!

These Mariners Hill campers and counselor look DELIGHTED to be enjoying a snack and a quiet moment together.

So many DELIGHTED smiles and giggles in this Sailors Hill group!

Hello BDC Family and Friends,

It's Week #8 at BDC and we are entering our final five camp days. The energy at 3570 Main Street is DELIGHTFUL! Our campers are beaming with excitement and pride and our staff members have more joy and enthusiasm that they displayed on the first day of camp.

What a DELIGHT to be part of something that is so much greater than the sum of its individual parts. The synergy that we have all created together here this summer is so DELIGHTFUL to behold. While it's hard to believe that we are coming to the end of BDC'14, it is with DELIGHT that we embrace the final hours.

I hope that you are DELIGHTED with how you have spent your summer! If you are not fully satisfied - you still have time to find some friends and make some magic happen around you. There is still time this summer. Go make it great!

This Admirals Hill camper was full of DELIGHT as he walked around campus on stilts during Carnival Day!

After a week of trial, here is the update on how the new afternoon HELLO & GO will work. If you wish to use the afternoon system, you must first use the system in the morning. As you are dropping off your camper in the morning, please let the HELLO & GO Attendant know that you will also be using this system in the afternoon. Your camper should go right from Afternoon Assembly to the BDC Office and when you arrive, we help your camper into your car for a speedy leave taking! How DELIGHTFUL is that?!

Many thanks for all of my birthday wishes! It was a truly DELIGHTFUL day!
Campus was echoing with the laughter of DELIGHTED, silly campers this past Friday, which was Carnival Day at BDC! At this activity, campers could dress up and take funny photos with their friends and counselors.
