Capsizing on purpose..are they crazy? These campers are working as a TEAM to demonstrate how to capsize and right a boat (and how to stay cool on a hot summer day!)

DONATIONS REQUESTED:

BDC's Art Head is looking for old nature, National Geographic, and Glamour magazines. Please drop them off at the camp office.

TEAMWORK is an important part of teaching. Here, BDC's Art Head works as a team with a camper to master a very important camp activity...GIMP!

Sometimes swimming in the pool is a TEAM effort, especially for BDC's youngest campers!
Hello BDC Family and Friends,

As we enter Week #3 at BDC, we have hit our stride! Campers and counselors are working together and creating synergistic TEAMWORK. In all of our activity areas, I am seeing BDCers enjoying the many benefits of well executed TEAMWORK. As the quotation below suggests, when people work well together - great things can happen!

If you are just joining BDC this week, you will find that, in the words of a former employee who visited, "BDC is a well-oiled machine with a smile!" My staff is eager to welcome you to camp and help you get settled and join the excellent TEAMWORK we have created on our campus!

If your summer has you working or playing in places other than on Cape Cod, I hope that you will team up with some people and create some fun wherever you are! TEAMWORK is not just for sports teams - go find your TEAM and get some WORK done fast so that you can go out and play!

Wishing you a creative, fun-filled week with loads of...

PS. If you were in the path of Hurricane Arthur this weekend, we hope that you are safe and sound. BDC fared very well! Huge PROPS (Public Recognition of Praise and Support) to our wonderful camp staff who's successful TEAMWORK on Friday afternoon prepared the campus for the 65mph gusts of wind and MUCH rain. Thank you to everyone, BDC is ready to welcome campers and families on Monday!

TEAMWORK is crucial down at BASE (Boating And Sailing Experience!). Campers and staff are pictured here working as a team to complete an inner tube and kayak relay race.

  General BDC Reminders

FOOD: Please serve a big breakfast, pack a morning snack for campers older than 7 years and a hearty lunch! Campers use MUCH more energy at camp and need more food than during the school year.

CAMPUS: Please use the gravel paths around camp, especially leading up to Mariners Hill.  Help us keep our limited grassy space looking lush and healthy all summer long!

Admirals Hill campers' TEAMWORK and good spirit combined here to create a huge BDC peace sign at Crosby Beach!
Mariners Hill campers and counselors work as a TEAM to create baking soda-vinegar volcanoes in the sandbox.

PLEASE HELP...

We have a wonderful Tent Counselor who is STILL in need of housing this summer. If you know of any rooms to rent, please email Misa here, or call 508-896-6555, or stop by the Welcome Walk.

Thank you for spreading the word!

What better way to model TEAMWORK to Sailors Hill campers than a trip to the Orleans Fire Department? (Group shot pictured below)
These Sailors Hill girls worked as a TEAM to create their own dance routine during Dance Choice!

BDC CLOTHING DRIVE:

BDC is hosting a clothing drive for donated children's items. Donations will benefit Safe Harbor in Hyannis. They are requesting infant-12 year old sized clothing. Donations can be given to the BDC Office!
