NAMASTE to our Founder: Marcia Pioppi Galazzi, for 32 to seasons full of Courage, Hope, Good Spirit & Peace!

Hold on to what is good,

even if it is a handful of earth.

Hold on to what you believe, even if it is a tree that stands by itself.

Hold on to what you must do, even if it is a long way from here.

Hold on to Life, even if it is easier letting go.

Hold on to my hand, even when I have gone away from you.

~ Pueblo Prayer

Archery is packed up and put away for the off season....
And this is what WOW looks like now....
Hello BDC Family and Friends,

When I return to my post-camp life, I practice yoga on a regular basis. Like many who enjoy yoga, at the end of each session, I place my hands together at my heart and say, NAMASTE.

This gesture, NAMASTE, represents the belief that there is a divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra. The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another. Nama means 'bow,' as means 'I' and te means 'you.' Therefore, NAMASTE literally means "bow me you" or "I bow to you."

And you helped make BDC' 13 the record breaking season that it was: We had more campers than ever before, we went on more trips, we sent sailors to compete for the first time at away regattas, we shared more joy than could possibly be measured on any scale, and the list goes on...

Together, we created magic at camp!

With hands pressed together at my heart, I say to all who had any connection to BDC '13: NAMASTE  - as well, of course, as heaps of....

Walk tall as the trees;

Live strong as the mountains;

Keep the warmth of summer in your heart;

And the Great Spirit will always be with you.

~ Navajo Proverb

Even the big kids (BDC STAFF) were sad at the close of the BDC '13 Council Fire on Friday night.....(see bottom photo for another image)
In the post camp morning sunshine, the shadow of the camp director is waving goodbye to you near the last embers of the Council Fire.....
Thanks to the fabulous work of the entire Camp Clean Up Crew on Saturday, all of BDC '13 is put away. The Sunfish are now stored for the winter......
Red Boats
...and so are the canoes!
Sailors Hill
The tents are down and Sailors Hill is empty...it's so quiet here at BDC!

Wishing you and your family...
 Courage, Hope, Good Spirit & Peace!
