Shaun Murray, the "Michael Jordan" of Wakeboarding, Team Nautique Rider, and American Ninja Warrior, is coming to Irish Boat Shop, this Saturday, August 8th! Shaun has been a professional wakeboarder for more than 20 years and is a 4-time World Champion! He has also been immortalized as the title character in his own wakeboarding video game. Limited space is available for time on the water with Shaun during the day behind our Nautique G21. Come meet the legend and see for yourself that he is the real deal! Everyone is invited to meet Shaun Murray after the day on the water. We will have food and fun from 6:00pm-8:00pm, so come grab some dinner and meet the master himself! Please, RSVP to ensure that we have enough food for everyone.

The 2016 Nautique G23 and G25 have been completely redesigned from the hull up to make the best wakeboat even better! Innovations include: another revolutionary hull design, new technology, and new styling. The new hull design focuses the flow of water for a smooth, dry ride and an even bigger wave for surfing. The Nautique Surf System (NSS) has also been engineered for faster deployment, making transfers faster.

New this year, you will also be able to control the wake while behind the boat with either a handheld remote that allows you to switch the wake or a special watch linked with the boat that can adjust the speed, surf system, running surface, and stereo. JL Audio has teamed up with Nautique to bring you a richer sound that fills the cockpit, with speakers specifically designed for the G23 and G25 boats. The helm has also been improved with a new touchscreen computer controlling all functions of the boat with a new state-of-the-art interface and seat straight out of a racecar. It is exciting to watch the technology evolve in these sophisticated machines as they continue to push the limits of what is considered possible with a boat!

The O'Brien Water Carpet is like a mobile floating private beach where you and your family can play and lie out in the sun without the sand. Water Carpets are great for hot summer days when being close to the water is ideal. Kids love to run around on them and jump off into the water. Dogs love them too and are welcome aboard without fear of damaging the foam, as it is virtually indestructible. The closed cell foam used in the carpet's construction beads water right off of its surface for quick drying and storage. O'Brien also makes smaller single and double foam lounges.

Local racers performed exceptionally well in the month of July in Ugotta Regatta and the Mac Races! Marty Jensen, with IBS's own Don Hicks, finished 1st overall in the Ugotta Regatta. Scott Sellers won the very competitive J/70 Class, with Jeff Towner coming in 3rd, and Rich Lehmann, with IBS's own Tom Trautman, finishing 4th. Clas Nilstoft battled hard with Ed Palm to win the Alerion 28 Class, with Ed finishing in a close 2nd, followed by the Grin Family in 3rd on Little Eagle. David Phelps won his class in both Mackinac Races and finished 4th in his class in the Ugotta Regatta. The Saals on Gosling won their class at Ugotta Regatta. Finally, Dave Irish finished 2nd in class in the Chicago to Mackinac Race and 3rd in class in the Ugotta Regatta with IBS's own Graham Miller, JT Ludington, and Nick Ford. Also racing from IBS was Preston Carey on Creative Destruction.

Great work everyone and Thank You to all of the racers that helped make the busiest month of sailing a big success! This Labor Day, we will welcome racers for Red Fox on the beautiful waters of Lake Charlevoix.
