Fall in Northern Michigan

The temperatures are starting to drop as the days grow shorter, but we remain in high spirits! After a busy summer, the leaves are turning to spectacular shades and making it one of the best times of the year to be in Northern Michigan. Your boats are being hauled, winterized, and stored until next summer, when the fun will begin anew!

Boat of the Month: Super Air Nautique G23

The Super Air Nautique G23 is the boat that changed everything in the world of wakes. The G-Series boats are unmatched in size and performance in the towboat market. This boat was designed for wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and wakeskating with a built in computer that tailors the wake to all skill levels and sports in conjunction with the Nautique Surf System with WAVEPLATE. The computer also controls your speed, making towing smooth. The boat weighs 5,400 pounds, not including fuel, ballast, or passengers. An additional 2,850 pounds of standard below-deck ballast can be pumped in from the surrounding water without cutting into your storage space. A higher freeboard allows you to take the boat out on rougher days and seats you deeper in the cockpit for more comfort. You will find the best seats in the house are a reversible bench seat and flip-up lounge seats on either side of the cockpit.

The G23 is the official towboat of the U.S.A Wakesurf National Championships and the Nautique Wake Series. The boat has been selected as both the "Wakeboarding Boat of the Year" and the "Wakesurfing Boat of the Year" by Wakeworld. Nautique has also recently earned their ninth consecutive National Marine Manufacturer Association (NMMA) Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) award for exceptional service.

The Pointer Returns

The famous Pointer boat has returned to its home outside Stafford's Pier Restaurant after extensive repairs. The keel, paint, woodwork, and bilge were just a few of the areas that have been restored. For the first time, The Pointer has been inspected and approved for legal operation as a passenger vessel by the Coast Guard. The 34 foot custom built water taxi was originally constructed in 1934 as a work boat. The three Pointer boats served as the taxis between car-free Harbor Point and Harbor Springs from 1930 until 1962. The Pointer will be in operation for the summer of 2015, offering scenic cruises around the harbor.
