Sunday, October 21st, along the Naperville Riverwalk in Naperville, IL and will start at the Grand Pavilion. Event day registration begins at 9 a.m. The Operation Snowball Anniversary Walk will begin at 10 a.m.

Registration

Registration for this event is $20 for adults and ages 10-17 are $15. Under age 10 are free. All participants are encouraged to collect sponsors and pledges. Each $25 raised gives you one entry towards winning wonderful prizes. How many chances will you have? Must be present to win.

Please dress appropriately in comfortable clothing and good walking shoes. Remember sunscreen and a hat. Beverages will be provided along the path. All participants are welcome. Course is handicap accessible.

All walk participants and parents of walkers under the age of 18 must read and sign a release of liability form prior to walking in the event. These releases are included when you pre-register and will be on-site the day of the event.

Rob, Beth, Samantha & Christopher Grupe

Congratulations to Rob Grupe, a long-time volunteer with the Operation Snowball and Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute programs, for being awarded the 2012 Lillian and Larry Goodman Award for Excellence in Drug Abuse Prevention. The award was presented at the Excellence in Drug Abuse Prevention Symposium at Roosevelt University. The Governor, Mr. Goodman, and several members of the Goodman family were there to honor the nominees. Two other IADDA/Operation Snowball members were also honored with recognition as Outstanding Preventionist of the Year. Congratulations to Megan Polydoris from Peer Services, and Lisa Snider, from Prairie Center for their well-deserved recognition.

Rob Grupe has dedicated his entire career to preventing young people from using alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs. He was a prevention coordinator for Heartland Human Services for more than 15 years. He also served as a Youth Minister, where he ran the Effingham Area Life Teen Program where he coordinated teen-oriented social events, support groups, and worship services.He began his work with Operation Snowball in 1987, and has been involved in the Teen Institute since 1990. Rob's investment in prevention runs deep, his willingness to help others in unwavering, and his ability to lead young people by example is irreplaceable.

Through the Operation Snowball, Inc. webinar program, OS  provides youth and adult participants with high-quality education and training without leaving the home or office. OS offers a broad range of programming hosted by prevention experts to help keep participants up-to-date on the latest drug-trends, environmental prevention strategies, data collection, evaluation, prevention activities and campaigns, training techniques, and subjects of special interest. Participants gain insight and knowledge to help them take their OS chapters and communities to the next level. We want you to be a part of this education initiative, giving your peers the knowledge and skills they need to be better leaders.
