One Southern Indiana Kicks Off Membership Campaign
Join Us Friday at Elk Run Golf Club

"The challenge is ON to find Southern Indiana's best corporate sales team through the One Southern Indiana Membership Derby Campaign," announced 1si's Director of Members Relations, Danny James.

On Friday, March 11th, ten teams from various Southern Indiana area firms will attend the "Kick-Off" at the Elk Run Golf Course club house. The three-week campaign's goal is to find 100 new 1si members. Campaign participants gain sales training, develop business contacts and compete for valuable prizes. New members become part of the most dynamic business organization in the area and can take advantage of the services and business promotional opportunities 1si offers. 1si in turn gains new marketing ideas, as well as the financial and leadership capabilities to expand its programs and services. The community itself will ultimately gain from the strong economic climate and the enhanced quality of life, which is 1si's purpose for being.

The Membership Campaign will conclude on Friday, April 8th and a victory celebration will be held at the 5 O'clock Network on April 21st, hosted by the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center Louisville North in Clarksville, Ind.

If you are interested in volunteering for the 1si Membership Derby, come by between 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Friday and we'll get you assigned to a team.

1si Shifts Direction of MWBOC for Minority, Women, Disadvantaged, Veteran, LGBT Owned Members

Where the MWBOC has been an annual one day conference in the past, task force members have elected to being a roundtable format with regular meetings which will increase the consistency of networking for these businesses as well as provide a peer-to-peer support system. Round table sessions will begin in the summer of 2016.

The Diversity Champion Award, which was initiated last year and honors businesses who have demonstrated outstanding dedication toward ensuring all people live and work in an environment of equality, respect and fairness, will be incorporated into the upcoming ACE Awards, which honors businesses throughout the membership.

Realizing that making the initial, face-to-face connection is still the engine that drives business, the task force has decided to continue with the popular MatchMakers event on April 21st, which gives small businesses, who fall into a recognized "disadvantaged" category, a chance to sit down with representatives from companies wishing to purchase from them. This will take place at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center Louisville North in Clarksville, Ind., from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., just prior to the 5 O'clock Network and Membership Derby Victory Celebration.

If you are interested in participating in any of these activities, please contact Suzanne at suzanner@1si.org or (812) 945-0266.
