Solving the Successful Business Puzzle...
Are You REDI?

The REDI Seminar Series was developed in 2012 by a group of eight top level business professionals representing a variety of business disciplines, including marketing, accounting, sales and human resources. The group came together to identify common barriers that prevent their business clients from reaching their full potential. They identified key disciplines with which owners, CEO's and next generation leaders of closely held and family businesses often struggle but must master to succeed. This ultimately led to the creation of the REDI Mindset:

* Recognize and seize opportunities
* Expect & predict results
* Decide best course of action
* Implement through team engagement

1si members will receive a $125 discount for the program if you sign up by February 11, and a $75 discount after that deadline. Discount codes and additional information can be found here.

Port of Indiana-Jeffersonville Breaks Record
Annual Shipping Record Broke for Second Year in a Row!
image of clapping hands
For the second year in a row, the Port of Indiana-Jeffersonville set an annual shipping record with total cargo tonnage for 2015 exceeding the previous year's volume by nearly 16 percent. The port handled 2.8 million tons of cargo in 2015, driven by heavy volumes of agriculture and steel products.

Shipments of steel more than doubled the previous record set in 2014, helped in part by rising demand in the U.S. auto industry, which sold a record 17.5 million light trucks and cars in 2015, according to Autodata Corp. Grain volume was the second highest in port history, following only the record harvest year of 2014. Port companies ship cargo to or from all 50 states and 12 countries, and the port's 'steel campus' includes 12 metal processing companies serving the automotive, appliance and construction industries. Health and Wellness Committee Issues First Member Challenge

The 1si Health and Wellness Committee was established in September of 2015 to be a resource to employers interested in creating health and wellness programs and initiatives for their employees.  In an effort to engage 1si members and employers, the committee will be creating events and challenges in which companies can participate.  The first challenge started February 1st!

During the month of February, in celebration of Heart Month, the committee is challenging you and your employees to 10 minutes of activity for three days a week all month long.  They challenge employers to get creative and encourage group participation.

Share some of the creative ways you and your employees participated by sending us information and photos to JoshS@1si.org. We will share your responses on our Facebook page.  Plus, throughout the year watch our Facebook page and the One Weekly for testimonials and ideas from other companies on how they have engaged their employees in healthy living programs.  We'll share statistics and other information regarding personal health and wellness.

If you would be interested in serving on the Health and Wellness Committee, email Josh Suiter at JoshS@1si.org or call him at (812) 206-9024.
