Sales and Marketing Series Refocused to Provide More Relevant Information

Welcome to the new and improved Sales and Marketing Success Series.  Not only will we be starting a half hour later but we will also be offering a variety of topics in formats that are more engaging and relevant.

The 2016 series will feature two round table discussions, two panel discussions and two featured speakers.  The first event, which takes place on Friday, January 29th from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., will consist of round table discussions focusing on overcoming the largest challenges to the sales and marketing professionals in attendance.  Each table will have a facilitator to ensure that conversation flows smoothly.   Networking and a continental breakfast is also provided.

The sales and marketing committee has been hard at work creating an annual calendar of seminars to provide you with pertinent information and helpful advice from subject matter experts, your peers and from the group at large.  Committee Members include:  Leah Alexander, Rich Barr, Mark Davis, Allen Howie, Ben Sapp and Laura Wilkins.

Make your plans now to attend the Sales and Marketing Success Series.  The six events will take place bi-monthly at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library.  As always, the event is free for members of One Southern Indiana (1si) with a registration fee of $25 for future members.

Regional Cities Initiative Funding Awarded to Evansville, Fort Wayne and South Bend

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. (IEDC) to provide help to all regions who submitted proposals.

Kick-off celebrations took place yesterday and today to honor the three regions chosen for the Regional Cities Initiative. Governor Mike Pence and leaders from North Central, Northeast and Southwest Indiana will host events to mark the $126 million program designed to boost economic development and quality of life.

According to Inside Indiana Business, the program has received such a positive response, Governor Pence, IEDC and the Regional Cities Strategic Review Committee detailed plans to fully fund three regions for the program instead of the two initially announced. If the General Assembly works out funding, three regions will receive $42 million each.  In all, proposals from the three winning regions are planning projects valued at a total of $2.5 billion.

The program has plans to help the regions market themselves on a global stage. A total of seven regions submitted proposals. As part of the program, the IEDC says the four regions not selected as winners will also receive support. As a result, the IEDC could help Central, East Central, Northwest and West Central Indiana identify public or private funding to encourage and boost development of regional plans and projects.

Goodbye Network of Champions,
Hello 8 O'clock Network

As we approach 2016, 1si is continuing to improve and elevate our events and programs. As a result, starting in January, the Network of Champions has been revamped, re-branded and renamed. If you pre-register by noon January 13, you will be entered into a drawing and eight lucky participants will be able to give a 30-second commercial in front of the entire room. Even if you aren't chosen, you can expect the opportunity to make new connections and have some fun! Join us for this new and exciting program! Hope to see you there and invite some friends along.
