Eichenberger, Griffith, Jackson and Stemler Honored at First Annual ACE Awards

 
One Southern Indiana (1si) announced the winners of their first annual ACE Awards. The ACE awards are a spin-off of the ONE Awards and focus solely on individual 1si members and their achievements. The winners received recognition at a luncheon held today at Kye's in Jeffersonville. More than 200 attendees celebrated the success of the winners.
  
The program recognized three finalists in three categories and one individual for the first ever Chairman's Legacy Award, which recognizes a member who has had a profound effect on One Southern Indiana as an organization. Each of the finalists, as well as the Chairman's Legacy Award honoree, was showcased in a customized video before representatives of the sponsor of each award announced the winners.

St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities Relocates Center
 
 St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities (SECC) celebrated the opening of their new Marie's Ministry Community Distribution Center at 305 E. 7th St. in New Albany with a ribbon cutting on Monday, November 16th.  The celebration showcased the seventh Affordable Supportive Housing units in the duplex located at 617/619 E. Market, a project with which the City of New Albany Economic Development partnered.  The ceremony also noted the fully renovated exterior of the old Holy Trinity Rectory featuring new exterior paint.  Click here to read more.

Owner, Packy Page celebrated the opening of his Allstate Insurance Branch on Friday, November 13th with a ribbon cutting held by 1si. Page, a native of Charlestown, Ind. who received his MBA from Webster University, plans to use a customer-centric philosophy to exceed client expectations and become a leader in the community's insurance industry. Pam Bennett Martin is president of Bennett & Bennett Ins. Inc., an independent agency with locations in Corydon and New Albany.  She is a certified insurance counselor in the family-owned firm, where she has worked for 34 years.  She has served on several advisory councils including Statesman Insurance Company, Safeco Insurance and Indiana Insurance Co.

Pam has served as board chair for both One Southern Indiana and the Harrison County Chamber, and has served in several capacities with United Way of Harrison County.  She is a recipient of the Allen Society Community Service Award in 1993-1994.  Additionally, Pam has chaired the YMCA campaign and is past president of the Corydon Rotary Club.  She was recognized as "President of the Year for Large Clubs" in District 6580 in 2010.  Click here to read more about Pam.

Public Invited to Walk the New Bridge on December 5th

The date has been set for the public celebration to be held in advance of the new Downtown bridge opening to traffic. Kentucky Governor Steve image of East End Bridge renderingBeshear will cut the ribbon, and the public is invited to "Walk the Bridge" on Saturday, December 5. The celebration will be an open house format, with the public invited to visit the deck of the new cable-stayed bridge 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  There will be selfie stations across the bridge , giving you a chance to capture the moment.  You're encouraged to post your pictures to social media, #walkthebridge.  The first 10,000 visitors will receive keepsake medallions to mark the historic event.
