Our Southern Indiana - The Regional Cities Initiative Update
Our Southern Indiana held two regional visioning sessions this past weekend in New Albany and Clarksville. The purpose was to gather information on the assets our community currently has and what we could bring to the community to build an enhance sense of place. Over 75 citizens attended the two sessions which used a variety of means including large maps with post-it notes, Legos and cups, lists and a variance on SWOT analysis to pinpoint possible ideas for projects.
"On July 1, we will be submitting a proposal with a list of 50-70 projects to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation for their funding consideration," said Wendy Dant Chesser, president of One Southern Indiana (1si). "These projects can be large or small but they must all be bold and transformative to be considered."
"We are doing everything we can to figure out what these opportunities are -- these assets," said Vincent Gauthier, director of planning for BNIM, the state approved urban development firm chosen to help with the creation of the 8-10 year plan, "then take that feedback, churn it up and come back with specific projects that we think will help elevate this region."

Friday is the deadline to register for the 2015 Annual Mayors' Luncheon
The 2015 Mayors' Luncheon will be held Tuesday, April 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kye's 1 in Jeffersonville.
This "members only" event features a moderated discussion and Q &A with:
- Charlestown Mayor Bob Hall
- Clarksville Town Council President Bob Polston
- Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore
New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan was invited but not able to participate in the panel.

 Make Your Voices Heard in Washington
As the economic development of communities continues to go global, it is important that the voice of the Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana region be heard when it comes to national issues that directly and indirectly affect this part of the country. 2015 Networking on the Greens set for May 15th
Dust off your golf bag and get your clubs ready; the "2015 Networking on the Greens" Golf Scramble will be held on May 15 at Champions Pointe Golf Course in Henryville. This year's event features two flights with shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Lunch is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and appetizers will follow the second flight. Click here to register online.
Fees are $150 per person or $540 for a foursome, which includes green fee, cart fee, two drink tickets, lunch, free putt in the putting contest sponsored by Centra Credit Union and marshmallow contest sponsored by Park Community Credit Union and gifts as you round the course. There will also be a Beat the Pro, CEO Challenge and Hole-in-One contest to win a 2015 Jeep Wrangler.

May 1st is not just Oaks Day...
 May 1st is also the deadline to get your marketing pieces dropped off for the May Member2Member Mailer. Get ahead of the race and reserve your spot now. Only available to 1si members, this cost effective marketing tool gives you the opportunity to reach more than 1,600 Louisville and Southern Indiana businesses each month. Here's how:
- Contact 1si to add your name to the participants list. Deadline to reserve space in the mailer is April 27th. Deadline to deliver your marketing pieces is May 1st.
- Design an advertisement as an 8 1/2 X 11 or smaller insert and print on a text weight stock.
- Deliver 1,750 inserts to L & D Mail Masters by May 1st and we will take care of the postage and processing costs.
The Member2Member Mailer package is delivered monthly and arrives about mid-month. Cost to participate: $250/month.
