Regional Cities Initiative Update
BNIM, the urban planner chosen from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation recommended list to help the Southern Indiana Regional Cities Initiative (SIRCI) taskforce develop a complete plan for this region, and their partners, will be meeting with key stakeholders from Clark, Floyd, Harrison and Scott Counties this week in Clarksville. The purpose of the meetings is to gauge knowledge and enthusiasm for the SIRCI project as well as identify some key large3-scale ideas based on enhancing "sense of place." This will provide an outline for the project and precede public forums, online conversations and regional workshops.
"Planning for the next generation requires a multi-disciplinary approach to creating visions that are informed by broad, inspired experiences. BNIM and our local partners are proud that we have been chosen to help Southern Indiana to develop a long-term, coherent vision for the future of the region" said Vincent P. Gauthier, director of planning and associate principal for BNIM. "We look forward to meeting with stakeholders and the public at large to gather input on individual initiatives for consideration in the final strategy."
Announcements of upcoming public forums and news of developments of the project can be found on the One Southern Indiana website at: www.1si.org For more information on BNIM: www.bnim.com
