On September 15, 2105 at 7:00pm at the Fremont Library,  Fremont Cert will hold a Public Information Session on Handling Drug Emergencies.  The presentation will include representatives from the Lake County Health Department, Grayslake Fire Protection District, and our Fremont CERT. Mundelein Cert Classes Begin in October
The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.

Mundelein CERT is offering a 20-hour training program on October 16 (6 - 10 PM), October 17 (8 AM - 4 PM) and October 18 (8 AM - 4 PM) at Mundelein Fire Station 1, 1000 N. Midlothian Road. Enrollment and materials are free of charge and open to individuals 18 years of age or older, or those 16 and 17 years old with a signed permission slip and waiver from their parents. Upon completion of the course, participants will be invited to join the Mundelein CERT team, although doing so is not a requirement. Apply online at www.cert.mundelein.org or by contacting the Fire Station (847-949-3260). Applications must be received by October 1, 2015.
