SAIA Meeting in Grayslake
This message is to alert you about a Special Public Comment opportunity regarding the SAIA Trucking Facility Zoning Request at the Grayslake Village Board Meeting, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 7 p.m. Grayslake Village Center-10 South Seymour Avenue. The Special Public Comment will focus on Ordinance 2015-0-24: Zoning Certain Property at the Southwest Corner of Peterson Road and Midlothian Road in the Limited Industry (LI) Zoning District.

The second installment of your property taxed are due September 3.

Diamond Lake Construction Update
Construction Update: Diamond Lake Road Construction and Culvert Replacement Underway! The project is through design, the materials are here, the utilities have been moved and now the work can begin. The contractor will first excavate and construct the foundations, then place the new large elliptical pipes, and finally reconstruct the roadway over the creek. Based on current plans and weather permitting,  they estimate the road will reopen in mid-September.

Fremont Cert Presentation on September 15, 2015
On September 15, 2105 at 7:00pm Fremont Cert will hold a Public Information Session on Handling Drug Emergencies at the Fremont Township Library . The presentation will include representatives from the Lake County Health Department, Grayslake Fire Protection District, and our Fremont CERT. They will raffle off an emergency weather radio and have an item for everyone to give away for an emergency supply bag.
Vietnam Memorial Wall Replica coming to Lake County

The Moving Wall is a replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, DC and is coming to the Round Lake Area September 3rd through 7th!

Join Mayor Lentz and Trustee Kerston Russell for a cup of coffee and conversation on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Taste of Paris Restaurant, 161 North Seymour Avenue. Please note the new location. Stop by...enjoy a cup of coffee and get an update on Village happenings. Plus, this is an opportunity to ask questions about what's new in Mundelein or share your thoughts and ideas. Reservations are not necessary! Just stop in to chat. 

Recycle Sheets, Blankets, Towels, for the Dogs
If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues.  Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.  

We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled year round.  If you are disposing of shoes that have laces, please tie the laces together.

The Boys Basketball Team at Mundelein High School will be selling 8" Mums in the West parking lot of the high school for $10 each.  MHS is located at 1350 W. Hawley Street in Mundelein.  Mums will be offered in the following colors (while supplies last): Red, White, Purple, Yellow, Lavender, Orange/Bronze.

Race for Local Charities and Rotary
The Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer, and Hawthorn Woods will hold its 18th annual Heritage Race at 8:30AM on September 12th at Kildeer Countryside School in Long Grove.  Participants can choose either a 5K run or 3K walk, and their registrations support one of eleven local charities working to make our community a better place.  Over $1.3 million has been raised by this event.  For runners, course is USATF certified with trophies five deep over 13 categories. After the Race, enjoy Chick-fil-A breakfast biscuits, pancakes, and sausage. 5th Annual Mundelein Arts Fest
Saturday and Sunday, September 12-13, 2015  enjoy a juried art festival that will showcase the talents of 45 fine artists   The two-day event will be held from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2015 and will feature top-notch artists, local musicians and tasty food.

Hidden Treasures of Milwaukee
Visit the Grohmann Museumcollection comprising more than 1000 paintings and sculptures dating from1580 to the present.After lunch at the Lake Park Bistro, the group will tour the Basilica of f St. Joseph, patterned after St. Peter's in Rome.
 
Grand Dominion is accepting applications from crafters for its annual craft show on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The event is open to original hand-made crafts from Grand Dominion residents and non-residents.  An application and information is available by calling 847-566-2403 or visiting Grand Dominion Lodge at 3555 Grand Dominion Circle, Mundelein.  Registration deadline is Sept. 18.  Non-resident crafters must submit photos of their crafts.
