Kirk Players Offer Free Summer workshops on Monday nights June 15th through July 27th. If you are interested drop them a noteat info@kirkplayers.org. Their summer workshops for children and adults are, and have always been, FREE!
Any child ages 5 to 14 who is interested in exploring the stage is invited to join them or a 7-week children's theatre workshop. Led by experienced Kirk Players, their workshop provides young actors with an opportunity to perform while giving them the ability to apply theatre techniques that can be used to enrich their everyday life. They will organize classes by age groups and these classes are still free of charge. Younger children play theatre games that use their highly developed sense of imagination and start them on the way to enjoying theatre. They learn listening skills, practice following directions and develop respect for others and their ideas. Older actors will be using scripted material to learn to develop characterization, think on their feet, improve focus and vocal projection and learn how to use stage directions.
For our adults workshop, they are asking students to bring their own material to work on - Paddy Lynn will explain more the first time they meet. For your reference, here is a summary of the details for both programs:
