What are they doing on Gilmer Road? |
I have received many questions asking what is happening on Gilmer?
The Lake County Division of Transportation is modernizing the traffic signals at Gilmer and Hawley and will be interconnecting the lights from Gilmer and Fremont Center to Gilmer and Midlothian to improve traffic flow. This corridor will also have a new technology called adaptive signal control which will adapt the traffic signal timing based on the volume of vehicles.
Adaptive Signal Control Technology (ASCT) is a newer type of technology encouraged by the Federal Highway Authority to reduce congestion and delays on area roadways. ASCT reduces delays and congestion by continually adjusting the length of traffic signals along the corridor. For more information on ASCT, please visit https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/everydaycounts/technology/adsc/https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/everydaycounts/technology/adsc/ |

If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues. Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.
