Girls Coat Shortage
As you know, Fremont Township distributes coats to those in need. We are low on girls coats, so if you have any your kids have outgrown and you are no longer in need of, please consider donating them to us. You can drop them at our office at 22385 Route 60 or at Jays Quick Pick at Midlothian and 176. You can also call me at 847 833-1019 to arrange for me to pick them up. We also need boots and gloves.

What shouldn't you be flushing?
Did you know.....that when flushed down the toilet or poured down your sink or floor drain certain products may damage the sewer pipes in your home and yard, the sewer system in your neighborhood, your sewer treatment pumps and treatment facilities, and the environment?

The following items should never be flushed down the toilet or discarded through a sink or floor drain:

Wet/dry cleaning cloths (Swiffer, etc) any plastics (bags, gloves, condoms)
sanitary napkins and tampon, antibacterial wipes (Lysol, etc),
cooking oil, fat and grease, diapers and diaper wipes (even if it says flushable) cloth, rags and string, laundry dryer sheet, pharmaceutical drugs, over-the-counter medicines, household cleaning chemicals, hygiene or personal care products, fuels, motor oil and antifreeze, paints and paint thinners, perfumes and cosmetics, and lawn care chemicals.

Lake County produced a 4 minute video to help educate the public on this issue.  Click here to view it.

Recycle towels, sheets, blankets, eye glasses, shoes
I am amazed at the donations we receive for the local Animal Shelters.  They are all being used and there is a demand.  We really appreciate Tracy Oliver and her continued dedication in delivering these items to our local shelters.

If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters. Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.

We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled year round.
Community Emergency Response Training Classes

You do not have to join the CERT Team if you take this training! I took it and found it helpful.

Come find out how individual preparedness, planning, and survival skills during the immediate aftermath of an emergency or disaster are essential measures in coping and make you an important asset to your family, neighbors, and other members of your community. What you do after calling 911 until the police, ambulance or fire truck arrives will have a critical impact on the quality of your survival and your ability to help others safely and effectively.
