Is your street address visable?
Remember  to check your street address numbers to make sure they can be seen in an emergency by the police and fire departments.
If you are on a well, have you had your water tested?
About 90,000 Lake County residents rely on ground water from aquifers to supply their private wells.  All users of private wells are encouraged to have their drinking water tested, and to test annually to see if it meets the minimum drinking water standards.

Safe drinking water is something that most of us take for granted, but every year there are instances of contaminated drinking water in Lake County.

The Fremont Township Well and Water Committee urge you to get your water tested once a year.  For your convenience, test kits are available at Fremont Township at 22385 Route 60.  Please call us at 847 223-2847 before you come, as we have many people on wells in Fremont Township and want to make sure we have the kits in stock.

Our Well and Water Committee educates  residents on how we can sustain a high standard with respect to the quantity and quality of our water supply. They are looking for new members to get involved.  If you are interested, call Diana at 847 223-2847.
Planning to travel for the holidays?

House watches provide a random check of your residence while you are away on vacation or for any other extended stay.

If you are a resident of Lake County and receive law enforcement services from the Lake County Sheriff's Office, you may contact our 911 Communications Center at 847.549.5200. In Fremont Township you would be in the unincorporated area. They will ask you a series of questions necessary to establish a house watch.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office also recommends viewing " Preventing Burglaries - How to Protect Your Home published by the National Neighborhood Watch Program

Fire Extinguisher Safety and Disposal

Get a new extinguisher when your old one expires, even if it still appears to be in good shape.  Countryside Fire Protection has partnered with the Fremont Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in an effort to provide our community an easy way to properly dispose of used or expired fire extinguishers.  To read more about the recycling program and drop off locations, please click here.

Recycle towels, sheets, blankets, eye glasses, shoes
If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters. Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.

We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled year round.  We are also in need of personal items for the food pantry.
