  • Left Turn Restrictions from Peterson Road to Illinois Route 83 begin 9/15/14 More Info
I have been receiving calls asking when Peterson will be completed.  According to the Lake County Division of Transportation, they are working to get all lanes open by December, weather permitting.  The delay is caused by modifications to accommodate a major high pressure gas line.
Dryer Fire
Over the past several weeks, the Countryside Fire Protection District has responded to three separate fires that have caused significant damage as a result of dirty exhaust duct work. They urge everyone to make sure their clothes dryer vents are cleaned of lint annually, if not more frequently. Exhaust fans in bathrooms or above stoves also need to be maintained and cleaned on a regular basis. These are often overlooked. For more safety tips, visit them at www.countrysidefire.com and go to safety tips.

Prescription Drug Drop Off
The Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Coalition for Healthy Communities are sponsoring Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fremont Township Administration Center, 22385 W. Route 60 in Mundelein, IL.

This one-day event will provide residents with no-cost, anonymous collection of unwanted and expired medicines.

It's a great time to clean out your medicine cabinet! Protect our kids, families and environment by properly disposing of your unwanted and expired medicines. Medicines in the home are a leading cause of accidental poisoning and flushed or trashed medicines can end up polluting our waters. Rates of prescription drug abuse are alarmingly high - over half of teens abusing medicines get them from a family member or friend, including the home medicine cabinet, and often without their knowledge.

For More Information on what you can drop off click here.

Hope to see you great singers of any age in the Mundelein Idol competition this year on October 18th.  You don't need to live in Mundelein to compete!
