I am receiving calls that some of our seniors are getting calls from someone stating they are from the IRS Fraud Department and insisting that you owe money. The IRS will not call you. The caller will sound persistent and will phone repeatedly. He even has a phone number that he leaves. I am asking anyone who receives the phone call to contact the States Attorneys Office. Do Not Send Money
The other scam going on now is from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. Do not give anybody any personal information and do not allow them access to your computer. |

Bring along some cabbage, a knife, cutting board, wooden spoon and a jar or crock and learn how make your own batch of sauerkraut.
This workshop will be led by VHMer Alicia Dodd who always happens to have a jar of sauerkraut fermenting away on her counter. For best results, Alicia recommends using Fido or LeParfait jars for long ferments with no worries of mold. She will also show you how to use regular mason jars and crocks. Click here for their facebook page and to let them know you will be there or email Alicia at adodd67@comcast.net |
Where do I drop off my electronic recyling?
When is the next household chemical waste collection?
Where do I recycle clothing and textiles?
Where do I dispose of medication?
If I haven't listed it, how do I recycle this?
If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters. Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use. Local residents Tracy and Jessica Oliver are again responsible for this drive. The Animal Shelter Drive starts today and ends August 31.
We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled year round.
