What are YOU grateful for?

The Get In Touch Foundation is grateful every single day of the year for the generosity of people, schools, businesses, and entire communities that support our lifesaving mission of free breast health education for girls (and guys) all over the globe.

We could NOT do it without you.

As we wind down 2014 and enter the holiday season, we reflect on all the gifts and blessings that have come our way throughout this glorious year.

There is no jar big enough to hold all the names and experiences that we are grateful for here at Get In Touch, but we thought you might enjoy making a "gratitude jar" with your family in conjunction with your lists for Santa!

Grab a nice big clear glass jar and a few colorful pads of paper. Every day during December, each family member writes down something different they are grateful for and pops it in the jar. As we approach Christmas, you'll find that the jar will be overflowing with all the blessings we oftentimes forget we even had.

Join us as we end the year on a high-note of gratitude!

Hope Lives!

GITYAs GIT into Action

We are so proud of our 2014-2015 Get In Touch Youth Ambassadors (those are GITYAs, for short)!

Elizabeth Sargent (pictured left) and her swim team, the Connecticut Wilton Y Wahoos, raised $1,750 for GIT in October when they "painted the pool pink" by wearing pink swim caps, and sold baked goods throughout two weekends of swim competition at the YMCA.   Thank you to the Wilton Family YMCA and Head Coach Randy Erlenbach (also pictured) who said, "It was a wonderful opportunity for our team to band together for a cause that is important to all of us."  KUDOS to Elizabeth and her teammate Hugo Sykes who also helped coordinate this wonderfully generous effort!

Youth Ambassador Mary Dudzinski has been passionate about introducing our breast health educational initiative to her school, Reservoir High School in Fulton, Maryland, and was joined in her fundraising efforts by the RHS Football Team at their PINK OUT game, when they presented her with a check for $2,300 for Get In Touch!  That's Mary, pictured right, with the "Big Check."

Thanks, ladies, for your efforts to help us "change the world - one girl at a time!"

What's a GYPOD?

Around here, we use lots of acronyms ("GIT" stands for "Get In Touch," and "GITYA" is short for Get In Touch Youth Ambassador, for example).  So, what's a GYPOD?   It's a "GIT Your Pink On!" Daya great way for schools and businesses to help raise awareness and funds for GIT.

In fact, we ask schools to host a GYPOD after they've received their Daisy Wheels so they can "pay it forward," ensuring that we can continue to educate girls all over the world about the importance of, and how to do a Breast Self Exam.

If you want to host a GYPOD at your school or business, feel free to choose any day you like - then Click here to learn more about how to "GIT" involved!
Hill Central School GYPOD

We love the enthusiastic and generous students, faculty and staff at Hill Central School in New Haven, Connecticut, who raised $271 for The Get In Touch Foundation during their "GIT Your Pink On!" Day last month.  KUDOS and THANK YOU, Hill Central School!!

Shop Rite Campaign for GIT

Director of Human Resources

Frank Amici, and Harry Garafalo, owner of Shop Rite Stores in East Haven, Hamden, Milford, Stratford and West Haven, CT, presented me with a check for $32,533.46  from their "Get In Touch" Campaign, which was held during three weeks in September when they asked each customer at checkout if they'd like to donate $1 or $5 to Get In Touch.

The generosity of these Shop Rite customers is  absolutely astonishing - THANK YOU for helping The Get In Touch Foundation continue our lifesaving mission to provide free Daisy Wheels to girls in schools all over the world!

Daisy Wheel against map

Presenting a Daisy Wheel to newly-diagnosed patients who have daughters or granddaughters who would benefit from breast health education makes a diagnosis in a family a life giving moment as well as a teaching moment.  Daisy Wheels may be purchased for $5 each and come in packages of 25. When you purchase a Daisy Wheel, you are also helping to provide a Daisy Wheel to a girl somewhere in the world who will have FREE breast health education because of YOU!  It's simple..."When you get one, you give one!"

Click the Daisy Wheel on the right to find out more.

Download our FREE Daisy Wheel App

We are over the moon about the Daisy Wheel App,

which has been downloaded in 82 countries!  If you're an iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone user, go to the iTunes App Store and download it for free.

If you love it as much as we do, we'd be grateful if you'd help us spread the word by telling your friends and writing a review, too.

It's making our mission to "change the world one girl at a time" a global reality!

If you've got a picture of your Daisy Wheel - or of yourself in your GIT gear - email it to us and you just may see yourself in an upcoming newsletter.

This is our brilliant and beautiful friend, Bayli Boling,
2014 Miss Teen Kentucky United States!

Bayli is wearing a super cute Daisy Wheel-tee from our GIT Boutique, and you can get one right here.

Bayli has been an outstanding ambassador for Get In Touch, having chosen breast health education as her platform for her term.
