Mary Ann's blog!

Greetings!

After a long and especially cold winter, we happily welcomed summer in late June and have been enjoying the long, hot, steamy days of July here in the Get In Touch office in beautiful coastal New England!

It may be summer, but we have been busy, busy, BUSY!!

We work hard all summer long to make sure School Nurses and Health Educators have everything they need to start their school year.

We spent time in San Antonio with School Nurses from all over the United States and the world, learning ways in which we can assist them in their life-giving and life-saving vocation of ministering to the needs of schoolchildren all over the globe.

We also launched our very first "Informed & Strong" appeal, working hard to reach One Million Girls with Daisy Wheels in 2015! We hope you consider joining our "Circle of Strength" with a donation that makes it possible for us to continue providing our free breast health educational initiative to girls all over the world.

Enjoy our newsletter...enjoy your summer!

Hope Lives!

46th Annual NASN Conference in San Antonio, Texas

It was an honor to speak at the 46th Annual National Association of School Nurses Conference in San Antonio, Texas in June and to be joined by GIT Vice-Chair of our Board of Directors, Lorrie Lewis. Reconnecting with hundreds of the School Nurses who already implement our program and introducing our program to hundreds more made it informative, successful, and fun! We're already looking forward to 2015 in Philadelphia!
Bayli Boling, Miss Teen Kentucky United States 2014

We love that our friend Bayli Boling, Miss Teen Kentucky United States 2014,
spent the day with a group of Girl Scouts making Daisy Ribbon pins to show
their support of The Get In Touch Foundation and our mission to provide
free Breast Health Education to girls all over the world!
Charlotte, North Carolina Went Pink!

Charlotte, NC's second annual Pretty In Pink Spring Soiree on June 12 was a resounding success!  Held at the Duke Mansion, it was a lovely way to spend a late spring evening.

We posthumously honored Kristy Adams-Ebel, founder of Carolina Breast Friends, and Chris Ebel accepted on behalf of his late wife. We were inspired and moved by her legacy, a true "Woman of Strength."

"Pink & Blue" Movie

It was an honor to be part of talented and passionate filmmaker Alan Michael Blassberg's important
documentary "Pink and Blue."

The crew was in Connecticut from Los Angeles and filmed our interview in The Get In Touch Foundation's
humble little digs in Milford, CT.

What do you want for YOUR birthday?

We're so happy that Morgan Horbal got asked this question!

She decided she had everything a 16-year old girl could need and asked her friends and family to make donations to GIT instead of buying her gifts.  Using CROWDRISE, she made it easy for them to donate and raised $460 for Get In Touch!

You can, too.  If you'd like to turn a special celebration into a fundraiser for GIT, we'd be happy to help you get started.
Teresa Younger Named CEO of Ms. Foundation for Women

We are so proud of our friend and former Get In Touch board member Teresa Younger who was recently named CEO of the Ms. Foundation for Women. Teresa heads to Brooklyn from her former position as Executive Director of the Connecticut Permanent Commission on the Status of Women and while she has stepped down from her position as a Director on the GIT Board, she will remain on our Consulting Board, a true champion for Women and Girls! KUDOS, Teresa!
"Rock On" Milford's 375th & GIT...

The Get In Touch Foundation is grateful to the "Rock On" girls for helping GIT's hometown of Milford, Connecticut celebrate their 375th Anniversary by turning hydrants into artwork! We love seeing our Daisy Wheel near
Harborside Middle School, a reminder to all who see it to do their BSE!

Have You Downloaded Our App Yet?

We are over the moon about the Daisy Wheel App, which has now been downloaded in 80 countries!  If you're an iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone user, go to the iTunes App Store and download it for free.  If you love it as much as we do, we'd be grateful if you'd help us spread the word by telling your friends and writing a review, too.

It's making our mission to "change the world one girl at a time" a global reality!

WE ARE GLOBAL!

Our Get In Touch Girls' Program is being implemented in every state in the US and in 27 countries...but as you can see we still have a long way to go until that entire map is PINK!

If you're a school nurse who has not yet signed up your school, click here to sign up and join us as we "change the world one girl at a time."
Informed & Strong

We have launched our "Informed & Strong" appeal with a goal of reaching
One Million Girls in 2015 with Daisy Wheels - and we need YOUR help!

Where in the World is YOUR Daisy Wheel?!

Our Daisy Wheel at sunrise on the 2014 Summer Solstice at Stonehenge, Saturday, June 21, "the longest day of the year." Special thanks to GIT founding board member and Youth Ambassador Liaison Betsy Nilan for thinking of us and snapping these once-in-a-lifetime photos!

If you've got a picture of your Daisy Wheel - or of yourself in your GIT gear - email it to us and you just may see yourself in an upcoming newsletter.
