Greetings!
As I prepare to speak again this summer at the National Association of School Nurses Conference, I am reminded of the selflessness of the School Nurses who rather than jump headfirst into a well-deserved summer break, have chosen to spend five days with their colleagues planning a healthier, safer 2013-2014 school year.
School Nurses will gather from all over the US and abroad to learn, reinforce, and network with colleagues to make sure best practices are in place for all of our children in their schools and in their lives.
We'll have lots to share with you after the conference!
Our newsletter is packed with news from all over the globe, where students and GIT fans danced, painted, laced up and dressed down at events to benefit Get In Touch!
We have some exciting news to share with you later this summer about a fabulous new fundraising platform we'll be launching in a few weeks! It will make it fun and easy for you to support Get In Touch doing the things you love doing, whether it is running a marathon, hosting a "GIT Your Pink On!" Day at your workplace, or even swimming laps...stay tuned!
Enjoy these early days of summer!
Hope Lives!

Spotlight on Schools: Students Helping Students Get In Touch
It's been an inspiring month here at GIT, as we received donations from schools and students who've found wonderful ways to raise awareness, and funds, at the same time! If you're ever in doubt that your efforts can make a difference to us, be assured that we LOVE everything schools do to help us help girls get in touch with their bodies, information and one another.
Marilyn Dypczynski, School Nurse at the American School of Warsaw (Poland) wrote to let us know about a great team of students who raised $675 for GIT. Thanks to 12th graders Maya Kerem, Greta Heistand, Tess Heistand, Jeremy Laski and Robert Majewski, along with graduate Snir Boneil for their efforts!
Sophia Aschettino and her teammates at Hamden Hall, here in Hamden, CT, ran a bake sale during their "Pink Day" lacrosse game with Hopkins School. Not only did their efforts bring in $251 for GIT, but they won the game, 19-14! (That's the team, on the right.)
And, Belle Chasse Academy in Belle Chasse, LA held a "Jeans Day" for their "GIT Your Pink On!" day and sent in a donation of $312.72.
Get In Touch Youth Ambassador Juni Oldensand organized a sophomore student formal dance at her International School of Luxembourg and raised $1000. Check out that cake and those chairs!

Thanks so much, everyone, for your creativity, passion about GIT, and your help in "paying it forward." The funds you raised will help us bring the Girls' Program and Daisy Wheel to more schools around the world!

Painting With a Twist
Inspired by the 1st Annual PIP in Charlotte held this past April, PIP event sponsors Juli Schrieber and Dale Jennings, and attendees Kay McArtan Sitton, Lyn Noonan Barbour and daughter Alicia organized a surprise FUNdraiser for GIT with 45 friends at Painting With a Twist! With PWAT donating 50% of the class fee and a successful Spin to Win raffle, these Charlotte ladies raised $1500 for GIT! (photos below by Jack Barbour, III)
