Taking care of rescue dogs
Is something I do best.
I know because I've done it,
And I've surely passed the test.
The dogs I've bathed, the food I've fed,
The vacuuming I've done,
And all to watch a frightened soul
Sit dreaming in the sun.
My own dogs I've neglected,
But I tell them everyday
That I love and cherish each of them
Though a new dog's come to stay.
I know they understand this,
For in their eyes I see
The love that I have given them
Come shining back at me.
Some people think I'm crazy,
Some others think I'm great.
But very few can understand
What really is at stake.
If I can love and help a dog
To find a better way,
My own life is much richer,
I look forward to each day.
So now you know my secret,
It's there for all to see,
The love I give, the life I save,
I do it all for me.
 Hello Dal Lover!

Hi everyone! We are sending our newsletter out a bit early so you all know about our campaign to find more foster homes and get a chance to listen to us on WMNF this Wednesday. Spread the word and help us save another spot!

"I should get a dog. I would get a rescue dog. I like mutts; I don't care. I would probably get a three-legged dog no one else would want." -Simon Cowell
DRTB Working Hard To Find Foster Homes!
Every newsletter we BEG for foster homes

Printable Foster Flyer
The lack of foster homes is the ONLY thing keeping us from saving more dogs lives.  We have put together a plan and we sincerely hope that you will help us.  Even if you can't foster, you can do something.
1)  We have put together a "Foster Flyer" that we need to distribute everywhere and anywhere there are dog loves.  Won't you please print out one or two and take to your vets office, your church, your pet food store, your kennel, your work-out club - ANYWHERE there might be dog lovers wanting to help save a life.  DRTB pays for all vet costs... the dog just needs your time, love, possible training and patience.  Did we mention your love??????
2)  The New Barker will be giving us a complimentary ad with our Foster Flyer to try and recruit some new foster homes.
3)  DRTB will be featured on "Talking Animals" with Duncan Strauss on Wednesday, March 30th at 10:00am.  It's on FM 88.5 WMNF Radio.  Please invite your family and friends to listen...maybe even one will be motivated and willing to be a foster home.

Wonderful dogs are dying every single day because there is no one to help them.  We hate that happening.   PLEASE, PLEASE help us save at least a few more of them.

Sherry, Tony and myself will be willing to talk with you in detail about what it entails to foster a dog.   Just reach out to us at daldoglady@netzero.net, daldogrescue@yahoo.com or tonywyattfla@gmail.com. The dog whose life you save will be forever grateful....as will we.

Thank you for caring and for sharing this plea.
These Dogs All Need Help
Part of the daily barrage that fill our inboxes

Everyday there is a plea to help save a dog from a shelter or bad situation in our emails & facebook pages. We know we can't save them all, but we can save SOME with help from you. With less purebred Dalmatians in the shelters, we can use our experience to save the non-Dal, spotted wonder, or just plain mutt. These are a sample of what we see daily:

GERALDINE: a 6 yr old, 55# Beagle/Dalmatian mix desperate to be a house dog again. In Broward County.
CALYPSO: a 5 yr old, 35# Beagle/Foxhound mix. Very social. She would love a home to call her own. In Chipley.
LUCKY: an eye-catching 2 yr old, 55# Bulldog mix. Sweet boy, good with both dogs & cats. A shelter favorite. In Chipley.
SNOOPY: a 6 yr old, 51# spotted mix. Energetic girl who loves everyone. Owner moved and left behind. In Orlando.
Springing Forward
Where we stand with the dogs

Easy doesn't always happen. Last month PEPPER was adopted as soon as she came up to Tampa, this month she returned. Our paws are crossed that a new adoption is in the works! We also had NINA, DAKOTA, & DOC find their new homes. Our newest arrival into rescue is CHIP, a 2 year old boy that wasn't doing well in a home with kids. He is slated for behavioral evaluation & training so he can look for a home that suits him. We also has 2 care-for-life dogs cross the rainbow bridge... DoGspeed to BIFF & SPLASH, until we can meet again.

So for 2016, with 8 dogs carrying over from 2015, we've taken in 5 new dogs, and of this 7 have been adopted into loving homes. We now have 9 care-for-lifers, leaving our current responsibility of caring for 13 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS!

Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.

Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:
