Dakota Joins the USA!
Qatar Dal travels far for the better life
| LOOK! I'm not a desert dog! |
DAKOTA arrived in Orlando on Feb. 19th after a long and exhausting flight. Thanks again to Caroline F. of PAWS in Flight for getting this boy to us along with his flight buddy Alex G. so he could live a better life. At seven plus years of age, his chance of adoption there was dire. DAKOTA has been to visit our vet and is recovering from his long flight. He spent the weekend resting up and charming everyone at Gulfport's Get Rescued. He's now been listed on petfinder.com to search for his forever home! Gotta love him!

Sweet girl found her home
I know we said we are taking a bit of a break, but our lack of available foster homes curtailed our intake regardless. Despite this we managed to accept 2 new dogs, LOLA who is staying with Linda McL. through heartworm treatment and DAKOTA who staying with Tony & friends. In this month we managed one adoption, PEPPER made the ride up from Miami for an event and almost immediately found her new home. Don't you wish it were always that easy?
We also want to show you what a little extra love can do. Many of you helped LUCY so she could get the surgery she needed. As soon as LUCY's leg healed and she was put up for adoption, she was scooped up by a wonderful family. Renamed ROSIE, she is now the love of Danny's life (their 17 year old son who wanted his very own dog). The two are now inseparable according to Mom and Dad.
So for 2016, with 8 dogs carrying over from 2015, we've taken in 3 new dogs, and of this 4 have been adopted into loving homes. We now have 11 care-for-lifers, leaving our current responsibility of caring for 15 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS!
Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:
We list all our adoptable dogs on www.Petfinder.com. PLEASE let us know if you can help these dogs with a loving home or getting them to events so that they might get adopted!

101 Dalmatians Kids
We were happy to add to the numbers
Some events we do are just flat out fun. Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay was asked to represent rescue and show off a Dalmatian for the Patel Center's children's production. We obliged by bringing past rescues, Tyler & Simon, so folks could learn about our breed and about how to help shelter dogs. We received some wonderful donations of food and cash. For those that got to see the show, the kid's cast did an amazing job on stage... we loved their performance. Thank you Audrey Siegler & The New Barker for including us!
