A Broken Girl No More
Crayola scores her forever home
What a wonderful email present to have received on Christmas from recent adoptees Susan and Scott. Crayola was an injured dog we pulled out of Miami-Dade. She had to have extensive surgery on her leg so that she could walk without pain. SOO many thanks to all the volunteers who helped Crayola find her way back. Kristy, Marilyn, Kennon (for the generous donation), and especially Tony who fostered her through thick and thin. A lot of karma bags are pretty full out there!
"Just wanted to say thanks for letting us adopt Crayola. She has adjusted well to our family. She keeps us on our toes at time. Merry Christmas to you and your family. We will never forget what you did for her so we could give her a forever home. God will bless you." Scott and Susan

So Into the New Year
We still have dogs looking for love
As we step into 2016, we want you all to know we still have some deserving dogs in search of homes and will continue working to get them into new homes. For December, freedom rides were given to Pepper from Miami-Dade Animal Control, Lucy from Polk County Animal Services, and Cooper out of Rome, GA! Thanks to Linda M. for saving Pepper, Tony W./Karen H. for helping Lucy, and transporters Kim & Paige for getting Cooper to Florida. All dogs will be given a thorough medical check and placed for adoption. Cooper found his new home quickly (see below) and the two little ladies are now guaranteed a new lease on life for 2016! These rescues are your donations at work.
Adoptions for December, besides Cooper, included long-timer Smokey who gained his forever home after more than a year of waiting. Additionally, Yahtzee & Rocky Roo were adopted. We also had little Patches return to us, we hope the second time will be a charm. Lastly, we said goodbye to Lucky, a care-for-life, who was much loved by foster Dad Gregg.
So for 2015, with 4 dogs carrying over from 2014, we have taken in an additional 42 dogs, 4 returnees, and 35 have been adopted into loving homes. We have 9 care-for-lifers, leaving our current responsibility of caring for 15 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS!
Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:

Mr. Popular aka "Cooper"
He quickly won hearts
For a little stray coming down from rural, Georgia, this cutie attracted a lot of admirers from Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet very quickly. After reaching his foster home in Lakeland, Cooper was quickly adopted into a wonderful loving forever home. And he now has a big yellow lab sister to boot!!! Thanks to Patti P., our new foster Mom and all the wonderful transporters who gave of their time and hearts to help this spotted boy get a wonderful new beginning.
