There's Always Room for One More
Author unknown
I see by his coat he must be a stray,
the untidy look gives him away.
He's lost his will and is so thin
hasn't eaten, since God knows when.
I know as I coax him through the door,
There's always room for one more.
The other night in the freezing rain, That little female came again. Matted and soaked crying in need, lost and alone with babies to feed. Her pleading eyes I couldn't ignore, There's always room for one more.
There's a new face on the docks today, hungry but clean, to our dismay, I stroked her head, her body rippled, when she got up, I saw she was crippled she started to go, but fell on the floor. There's always room for one more.
There's the poor doggy standing in the rain. I've tried to entice him, time and again. One ear's lopsided, the other's been torn, Blind in one eye, lost and forlorn. He's coming now, so I'll open the door. There's always room for one more.

All has been quiet on the eastern front, too much so! Our foster situation is critically low... it's even hard for us to fit in the purebreds. The Qatar Dals will arrive soon and we need an extra foster or two in anticipation of their arrival late on April the 13th (when kennels are closed). If you can help please email Susan at daldoglady@netzero.net. This is the end of this public service announcement, we will return to our battle for the homeless Dals & dogs!

Fun Fundraisers for You!
A fun evening at Chili's is planned with the DRTB Pack 4/29
Come one, come all! Susan Weber (our founder) is coming to Tampa and we think it's a great time for all DRTB volunteers and supporters to get together and have some fun. Ten percent of your bill for any food or drinks purchased at Chili's (must bring copy of flyer) will be donated back to DRTB! You can go any time during that day, but most of the DRTB pack will be there from around 5pm on with a table center stage. We hope to see as many of you as possible, it's always a great time seeing our fellow dog lovers!!
Scentsy Fundraiser Starting April 1st! No joke.... REALLY!
We also have just begun a SCENTSY Online Fundraiser hosted by Michelle Champagne to raise funds for DRTB.
Scentsy is a company that sells warmers, wax, buddies, laundry care, bath, and body products. Scentsy warmers are warmed at a low temp heat to melt the wax; no soot, flames, or smoke involved. The wax is made with a high quality paraffin wax. There are over 80 different scents of waxes to choose from, so there is something for everyone. No products are tested on animals. Scentsy makes great gifts. Half of all proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay. Make your house smell wonderful and help out the Dalmatians in need.
To participate, all you have to do is click the link in the picture & it goes to the website. Add your purchases to your cart and before you go through the check out process you will see a page will come up asking if you want to add your order to a party. Yes, of course! The party will be titled Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay Fundraiser. Once you click that you then fill out your payment info to complete your order. Easy peasy!

Maintaining the Status Quo

Calypso has turned Lucky into her personal pillow :)

Our March didn't roar like a lion or go out as a lamb. Actually, we had very little dog activity. There were very few Dals needing rescue that appeared in shelters, with the exception of one we were contacted to help... sadly, he died during an operation to remove stones that caused a blockage. CALYPSO returned to rescue recently, but is expected to be adopted by her foster Dad soon. We still expect the arrival of the Qatar Dalmatians, JAKE & JACOB and possibly JUAN (who has to meet a weight limit). They are expected to arrive April 13th in Tampa.
So for 2015, with 4 dogs carrying over from 2014, we have taken in an additional 4 dogs, 3 returnees, and 3 have been adopted into loving homes. We have 14 care-for-lifers, leaving our current responsibility of caring for 20 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS!
Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:

Tubby
| Honey |
Jake pending arrival

Jacob pending arrival
| Annie |
We list all our adoptable dogs on www.Petfinder.com. PLEASE let us know if you can help these dogs with a loving home or getting them to events so that they might get adopted!

Learning How To Be A Dog
No more dirt pen for this boy!
After spending his whole life in a deplorable kennel at the " Village of the Forgotten & Lost" in rural Georgia, Tubby now has a second chance at life. We wish we could have taken all 4 of the Dal mixes that were there, but are glad we could at least help one. Thanks to Karen H. for stepping up to foster Tubby. He is now learning what it means to live in a house and have contact and play with other dogs. Tubby is basically scared of his own shadow having never been introduced to anything outside of his cage. Even with no human touch, Tubby has the sweetest personality ever. Once he is done with his heartworm treatment, this handsome boy will be going up for adoption. Please keep him in mind if you are looking for a wonderful addition to your canine family.
