Unconditional Love
by

Jim Foulk

Dogs are one kind
of friend to have,
memories of them
we share in our hearts
faithful and true are they
dogs show devotion
like no other,
no matter how we
treat them, they
return unconditional love
when were down,
and in the dumps
a friend in deed
we do have,
no one to talk with,
wagging tails, we get
alone and blue
dogs by ourside, very true
down at their level
on the floor,
kisses wet
do we get
no friend is greater
than one who gives,
unconditional love.

January has been a relatively quiet dog month, which is a good thing. We are woefully short of fosters; a terrible position for a rescue to be in. Hopefully, we can find a few more people to step in for the dogs... if it is you then PLEASE let us know! Also, our February calendar is loaded with events so if you can help us there, once again, let us know. Don't forget it is our dedicated volunteers that make the magic happen in rescue!

Walk for DRTB Dogs with Wooftrax

A new fundraising app for rescued & shelter dogs

DRTB has joined the Walk for a Dog program at WoofTrax.com! Walk for a Dog is a simple, year-round fundraising app that promotes healthy interaction between dogs and their owners, and raises money every day to support the mission of DRTB. The app is available at WoofTrax.com for both Android and iPhone. So go fetch the app and start walking for DRTB! The more people walking the more that will be donated!
January Brings A Slow Start

Desperately seeking fosters

Our January began with a whimper. We answered the call for an old girl named PADIEGH in Orlando. When we got this girl we found not only had she been unnecessarily spayed by the shelter, but was sick with cancer and had to be released to the Rainbow Bridge... heartbreaking for us all. On a more positive note we took in PADDINGTON and SPOTTY, plus we have made arrangements for TUBBY to join rescue soon. Lucky dogs PADDINGTON & ALF both got their wishes granted for new homes and we could not be happier for them.

So for 2015, with 4 dogs carrying over from 2014, we have taken in an additional 3 dogs and 2 have been adopted into loving homes. We have 15 care-for-lifers, leaving our current responsibility of caring for 19 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS!

Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.

Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:

We list all our adoptable dogs on www.Petfinder.com. PLEASE let us know if you can help these dogs with a loving home or getting them to events so that they might get adopted!
DRTB'S FASTEST ADOPTION EVER!!!
This cutie patootie is our first 2015 rescue adopted

Who could resist this adorable little 8-month-old Dal boy who was found as a stray? Apparently not many when we sent out the plea for a foster/permanent home for him. Thanks to volunteer Tara for picking him up from the shelter. That same day only a few hours later, Sherry M. picked him up and took him to his potential forever home that instantly fell for him. Hence the email below:

"We are enjoying every moment with our baby Dalmatian. We have changed his name to Duke. We felt that it would only be appropriate to name him do since we already have a Prince. He has livened up our household. We all have truly fallen in love with him. He is so beautiful. Thank you so much."

Happy new endings to this little spotted angel!.
