Throw-away Dal "Gracie"
Owner drove away from this girl in need
Blue-eyed, deaf, little Gracie was seen being dumped at the side of the road in October. Her owner unleashed her, left her with a bowl of food, and drove off. Not only was Gracie left to fend for herself, she was very pregnant. Amazing how cruel some people can be. Luckily, a kind person saw this happen and took Gracie to a shelter where she delivered 9 puppies. A Dalmatian loving vet in Sanford generously agreed to care for the pups and Mom until they were ready to be adopted.
We committed to taking the Mom and 4 spotted puppies when ready to place (another rescue had committed to finding homes for the others). We were able to find all four puppies wonderful, loving homes! Now it's Mom's turn. Turns out Gracie is quite the energetic little spotted girl. She is a mountain goat in disguise and can climb just like one, but she is very loving and gets along with everyone. If you are looking for a very active playmate, Gracie will be your girl. If you are interested in adopting Gracie, please email daldoglady@netzero.net. Gracie has been spayed and is up-to-date on everything.

A Great Start To The New Year
Only 4 dogs still are in need of homes
It was a very Merry Christmas for some DRTB Dogs. We adopted out, referred, foster failed, & closed the books on 11 dogs in December! SPUNKY, CALYPSO, LUCKY, ANNIE, ALL 4 DOLLY/GRACIE BABIES (including little Jennie), TRAVIS, SANDY, & LILLY got their wish for new homes. December put a total of 7 dogs that needed our help. LUCKY was a referral for a previous adopter and a quick campaign was successful in finding homes for all of GRACIE's puppies. The new "kids" still needing homes are GRACIE & ALF. We look forward to finding them new homes in 2014.
So for 2014, with 14 dogs carrying over from 2013, we have saved an additional 54 dogs and 54 have been adopted into loving homes. Our care-for-lifers hold steady at 16 dogs. This leaves our current responsibility caring for 20 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS!
Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:
We list all our adoptable dogs on www.Petfinder.com. PLEASE let us know if you can help these dogs with a loving home or getting them to events so that they might get adopted!

Volunteer help is NEEDED!
We have several big events coming up for us in 2015 and we need your help. Several of these events generate significant funds for our dogs, but we will need several volunteers available to make them happen.
First is the CHILI COOK-OFF at Quaker Steak & Lube in Clearwater on January 10th. Participating rescues share in funds raised so we'd like to see fosters there. Second is February 28th's GULFPORT'S GET RESCUED's day-time adoption street event and later that evening the auction event for which we need to try & sell 10 tickets at $25 each. Volunteers are needed to work the tent during the day event and to bring fosters to get seen. Additionally, we need to fill two tables with auction items for Tails at Twilight so we could use help rounding up donations of auctionable goods... anything goes. Plus, we need one more volunteer to help with check out that evening. This event can be a significant fundraiser. Third & fourth is ECOFEST. This has two components: an earlier event in North Port on February 7th & 8th and the other, also on February 28th, in Sarasota. This event will be raising funds for our cause so we need to be present and need volunteers to work it. Fifth is again on February 28 through March 1. That is the BAY AREA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL's PET FEST. It can be a fun event, but we cannot do it without help. Anyone up for the Ren Faire???
