Another Dal-loween Has Come & Gone
A great time was had by all
It has been a long and exhausting day, but another Dal-loween has been laid to rest (metaphorically). We'd like to thank our host, FERG's, for allowing our pack of pups to enjoy the day there. Also, to thank all of you who turned out for the event. We were a bit smaller, but hope to continue to grow the event in this location. Our weather was perfect for the dogs, with a bit of a chill, but the sun shone bright. In the end the dogs will benefit & for this they are very happy!
Watch the website for a more comprehensive recap, we hope to have it up in a few days!.

Our Rescue Pace Falls With the Season
The cooler weather gave us a bit of a breather
October was a slow intake month, not that there are less dogs needing help, just our fosters have been full. Our saves for this month were SMOKEY, a sweet dog that got placed in lousy homes by the shelter system... we plan to do better by him! Then there was SPUNKY, a wounded pup out of Miami. Despite our slower pace, we did get some more adoptions. The lucky dogs finding homes are NIGEL, BRI, ROSCOE, & HONEY! They are now "home for the holidays" and for this we are very thankful!
So for 2014, with 14 dogs carrying over from 2013, we have 40 dogs adopted into loving homes. We increased our care-for-lifers to 16 dogs. This leaves our current responsibility caring for 27 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS!
Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:

Networking Saves Nutmeg
And lands him in a very soft spot ;)
Found as a stray by Hillsborough Animal Services, this 2-year-old Dal/Hound dog quickly became a volunteer favorite. They named him Nutmeg and rallied together to save him. We saw his post and nabbed him in time. Thanks to volunteer Margaret for finding us a foster home with Tyler. He was renamed NIGEL, which has stuck to this day. Besides being puppy rambunctious, Nutmeg proved to be a sweetheart. It took a few months but he has now found his perfect home with a huge backyard and Belgium shepherd playmate. Here is evidence of his new-found happiness with owner Will. Thanks to all who saved Nigel - well deserving of a happy ending!
"Nigel was a blessing in disguise. He is the sweetest most loveable Boy. He loves to play all day long with his buddy Andy. He is always anxious to please and loves attention. From the moment I brought him into my home he fit right in. He loves the room he has to run around and has even claimed his very own chair. He has found his forever home with me and his pal and is happy as can be."
