Our former rescue gets some media attention
Why I give: Chloe the therapy dog
FNP 12:08 a.m. EDT June 23, 2014
"My new family decided I would be a wonderful therapy dog and after all that was done on my behalf to get me where I am today, this is my way of giving back... Bringing smiles to their faces warms my heart and while they thank me for coming to visit, my nonstop tail wag is my way of thanking them," as told by her owners.
- Chloe Aerin, 6, was rescued from a kill shelter in Alabama last year and battled heartworm and cancer. The Dalmation lives in south Fort Myers with her owners Sheryl and Ken Weiner. She is a registered therapy dog, through Therapy Dogs Inc., and makes weekly visits to the Golisano Children's Hospital.

May the Fourth Be With Us
Hoping more adoptions will come our way
 |
Didn't take this cutie patootie long to find his home!
|
July is a month where many folks getaway & celebrate, but for the dogs summer adoptions are slow and almost all our area shelters are in crisis... too many are way past capacity. We help where we can, but more FOSTERS ARE NEEDED FOR US TO HELP. During June we were only able to take in 2 dogs. PIXEL, now called Sailor, was quickly adopted to a home who has adopted another deaf Dal from us and is experienced. LILY came to us from Miami-Dade because there was a new foster home waiting. Other adoptions this month are KIKO who winged his way to Florida with PNP Pilot Alan and CRUZ (Rocky). We still hope adoptions will pick up once the school year ends, our paws are crossed!
So for 2014, with 14 dogs carrying over from 2013, we have 22 dogs adopted into loving homes. We hold steady at 14 care-for-life dogs. This leaves our current responsibility caring for 23 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS!
Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:
