April Showers... May Bring Adopters?
We'd like to keep our doggies movin'
The adoption rate slowed some this April, guess there were too many Easter eggs to distract adopters. We did find homes for 3 pups, LUCKY, LADY (a courtesy post) & SAM... YAY! Our newest intakes are BOBO aka DALE (who finally arrived from last month), PAUL, ROCKY, & ANNIE. KENNEDY from 2012 (who had been renamed SAM) returned to rescue after his adopter impatiently dumped him into a shelter where he nearly got PTS... yeah, we are more than P.O.ed about that! Thankfully, the ASPCA checked his chip & called us giving him another chance at love, which he has found with a new family this week! Of course, we still have 14 care-for-life dogs which may soon increase to 16 because their ages.
So for 2014, with 14 dogs carrying over from 2013, we have 17 dogs adopted into loving homes. Our current responsibility has us now caring for 21 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS! Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:
We list all our adoptable dogs on www.Petfinder.com. PLEASE let us know if you can help these dogs with a loving home or getting them to events so that they might get adopted!

Street Stray Finds A Home
With a little help from her friends
Recently volunteer Mary Ellen's neighbor Megan found a black and white dog roaming the streets of St. Pete. We had no fosters to help but she agreed to keep her (even though neighbors were threatening) while we looked for a home on Petfinder. With Mary Ellen's great photos, we soon had an interested application. After the application process was final I received this email.
"Thanks Susan, For helping my neighbor with the found "honorary Dal". Megan is so happy that Lady is going to a great home filled with big adventures. From left are her new owners Jeremy and Tara, on the right is Megan her foster. Jeremy took Lady by boat to a little island today to get in some bonding time this weekend before her spay surgery on Monday. Looks like Lady is enjoying the good life." You are very welcome. We are always happy to help and thanks to our wonderful supporters we can.
