Whoo Hoo! You Can Say ADOPTED!
Our Longtime Fosters Find Homes
We love our foster dogs, we really do, but it is so nice when dogs that have been a long time in foster care FINALLY get that home they've been waiting on. This month CAVAN DARBY who has been with us over a year, SOPHIE who has been with us nearly a year, and FANCY who has been with us 10 months ALL were ADOPTED!!! Lucky little DALIA was also quickly adopted this month. Other new intakes are PRINCESS, LUCKY, and a soon to arrive DALE. We still have 14 care-for-life dogs.
So for 2014, with 14 dogs carrying over from 2013, we have 14 dogs adopted into loving homes. Our current responsibility has us now caring for 19 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS! Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:
We list all our adoptable dogs on www.Petfinder.com. PLEASE let us know if you can help these dogs with a loving home or getting them to events so that they might get adopted!

The Good, Bad, and the Ugly!
Plea For A Senior Dal Answered
" PLEASE TELL ME SOMEONE HAS A PLACE FOR THIS GIRL!!!
HER OWNERS TURNED HER IN BECAUSE SHE HAS ARTHRITIS AND THEY ARE TIRED OF WATCHING HER SHAKE AND CRY (THEY GAVE HER NO MEDS FOR IT) I AM SO MAD!!!!"
This is a recent plea we received from the shelter in Jacksonville. Apparently, someone turned in this poor old soul in October. She was adopted out again in December. These wonderful (NOT) people just dumped her again because they got tired of her whining.
Thankfully, DRTB has some wonderful big-hearted people who came to Princess's rescue. Chris D. pulled her from the shelter and drove her all the way to Gainesville. Karen H. has graciously taken her into her spotted pack. A visit to her vet told us that Princess is at least 12 years of age, can't hear very well and does have advanced arthritis that makes her wobbly. But her blood work was good and she is in no way ready for the rainbow bridge. Her tail wags constantly despite having been abandoned twice. Thanks also to big-hearted Kennon H. who always supports our rescue of the senior Dals.
So yes, there truly are the good, bad and the really ugly. But we have to keep believing that in the end the good will triumph and karma will get the bad and the ugly.
