DRTB's Future
Our State of the Rescue Address
For the past 10 years, Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay has been very lucky. We have saved an average of 83 dogs a year. Through the good hearts of SO many supporters we have managed to stay afloat financially. We have cared for numerous senior dogs and seen them cross the Rainbow Bridge when their rightful time came. We continue to care for 13 old spots and have 9 dogs up for adoption.
2014 is going to be a challenging year for DRTB. Our biggest contributor has passed away. Almost all of our foster homes have had life changes that are now keeping them from fostering (or they became foster flunkies and have no more room). For only the second time in 10 years, our expenses outpaced our income. Care for the dogs in our rescue accounted for 75% of our income with vet bills alone running $31,000.
At this point, we can only continue with your help. First and foremost, we MUST have foster homes. Without them we have no place for saved dogs to go. There are so many just begging for our help. We need more volunteers to staff events (both adoption & fundraising) to continue to spread the word about DRTB. As always, we need funds to help care for the dogs we have already taken in.
Won't you step up and help us save some more lives????? We are just one small rescue, but we hope you will agree that every dog we have rescued has been so worth the efforts. I will personally be happy to answer any and all questions you may have about DRTB.....call me at 727-417-6017.
Thank you, Susan

Oops, There Goes Another Spot!
In the best possible way!
HALLELUJAH OUR ADOPTIONS HAVE PICKED UP! While we still have dogs needing homes, we have managed 6 adoptions this year. CABO, BRADY, ASPEN, FRED, LADY, & OAKLEY have joined their new homes. Unfortunately, the loss of foster homes has only allowed us to accept one intake, LINUS, this month.
We also got news that senior SPOT aka SHERMAN crossed the Rainbow Bridge. With all the dogs deemed care-for-life, we still have 14 dogs in permanent care.
We began 2014 with 14 dogs carrying over from 2013 and have only added 1 more. Our adoption count for 2014 is 6 dogs into loving homes. Our current responsibility has us caring for 23 Dals & dogs... ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS! Your help is very much needed, especially getting these dogs noticed at events or shared on social media.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:

Snoopy Love Fest
Holiday Hangover
Snoopy and his new family are proof perfect that DRTB's efforts need to continue. Once a Jacksonville stray, this little guy is now the center of attention with his new guardians. Kerry, Clark, and Paige wrote us to say:
"Hello There! Just wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays and thanking you for all the work you do. We are ready to spend our first Christmas with Snoopy. He is a love and is my 8 year old daughter's dear companion. We are going to hope that Santa did not see him eat the lego doll or Christmas tree ornament or gold star... etc... so he will get a favorite antler instead of coal in his stocking. Thank you again for helping us find our loving family member."
Thanks so very much to Chris D. for fostering this darling little spot for us while we searched for his new family.
Snoopy is proof perfect that DRTB's efforts need to continue on.
