Dog Days Doldrums
Adoptions are almost at a standstill
Dogs, dogs, everywhere with few adopters to be found! Summer can be the pits for re-homing dogs. Could everyone be away?? Our hopes are that adoptions will pick-up after the Labor Day holiday. We've added another 7 dogs this August. Joining us are TUXEDO, HAPPY, PATTI, FRECKLES (another 2008 returnee), TRIPP, PONGO and RANGER. We also learned that DARCY has mast cell cancer so she will become a care-for life and remain with Jim & Jen N. until her time comes. Finishing up our count are our 3 adoptions and they are: TINKERBELLE, DAX, & SWEETIE. Happy life kids!!!
We began 2013 with 9 dogs carrying over from 2012. So far we have brought in 72 more dogs of which 3 are returnees. Our adoption count for 2013 is 54 dogs into loving homes. Responsibility for caring for 30+ Dals & dogs remains the same. ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS! Your help is very much needed.
Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:

Dax Finds Love At Last
Finally Dax is living the rescued dog's dream
 |
No longer emaciated, DAX has a home we all wished for him!
|
Remember our pathetically skinny stray spot that we sent out a plea for two months ago? Dax was found wandering in rural Tampa so covered in fleas and filled with worms that he was very anemic. The poor boy who should have weighed about 50 pounds, was only 25 pounds. After being well taken care of by Foster Mom Nicole, Dax has now found his way into a forever home with new Mom Lindsey. Lindsey adores Dax - he even sleeps with her every night. She has found out he loves lizards and needs a little leash training when he spots one. Dax is finally getting the attention and love he deserves. Thank you to everyone who contributed to help make his happy ending come true!

Special Shirts For A Special Day!
To celebrate our 10 years of saving spotted lives, we are having special DRTB commemorative t-shirts made up. They will have our unique 10 - year logo on them, be one-of-a-kind and not offered again. Please continue to help our rescue efforts by ordering a t-shirt and wear it with pride.
The shirts are available in either grey crew neck or white V-neck. They are 90% cotton and 10% poly. They are preshrunk and run true to size. Cost is $25. We can either have them for you at the picnic or if you want one shipped, it will be $5 extra.
