A Dog's Love

by

Terry Mar

A dog's love
seems to have no end
When humans want to hate
a dog, simply wants to mend

A dog's love
is expressed each time
Where as humans seem
to leave their feelings behind

A dog's love
is always the same
When humans love
some play a game

A dog's love
we may never understand
For they love completely
that seems lost in man

A dog's love
can only be known
By one who loved a dog
and dog moments they own

Dog moments are special
only way I can explain
They are when a dog affects
both your heart and your brain

Hello Dal Lover!

We've reached those summer months where events move inside to air-conditioning and fundraisers get planned... all the while we keep juggling dogs and their treatment plans. We are so grateful some new fosters have joined us, though we certainly could always use a few more. The dogs are never-ending. We have quite a few dogs that need more exposure, so if you can spare a few hours this summer to help us get one more adopted we'd appreciate it (as will the dog). We'll try to keep it cool!

"A dog will teach you unconditional love. If you can have that in your life, things won't be too bad." ~ Robert Wagner

Big plans for year number 10

Dal-loween 2013

Saturday, October 12th we celebrate 10 years of Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay!!! We hope each and every one of you will be there to join us. We want to make sure we can continue with saving for another ten years. Those of you who have adopted one of our rescues know just how much they can light up your life with love!

Here's where we need your help most right now to make the picnic a success; we need Drawings and Silent Auction items. We've put together a letter you could use when visiting your frequent hangouts to ask for gift certificates, etc. Any other connections you might have that can help would be more than welcome. Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for helping us help the spots!

We Keep Doing It for the Dogs!

We have lots of new faces for you

This was another busy month for us with 9 dogs coming in. Our newest arrivals for May are: PEPPER, THELMA, CLEO, PENNY, FANCY, BRADY, BLUE, DOTTIE, and CUDDLES. Luckily, 10 dogs have gone out, but you just know more are around the corner. The lucky dogs adopted in May are: Garruck & Acavyn, Domino, Sutton,
Romeo
Murphy II,
Spike, Meg,
Snoopy, & Pepper
Yay Team!!!

We began 2013 with 9 dogs carrying over from 2012. So far we have brought in 48 new dogs plus 1 return. We have had 7 dogs cross the Rainbow Bridge under our care due to old age issues or illness. Our adoption count for 2013 is 38 dogs into loving homes. We still have the responsibility of caring for 29 Dals & dogs. ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS! Your help is very much needed.

From Trash to Treasure
A road less taken yields results

Garruck & Avacyn go home These two cute little pups were found in the middle of a road in North Carolina by a Good Samaritan. After saving them and returning to Florida, she found herself jobless and unable to take care of the dogs she had named Garruck and Avacyn. So she sent a plea for help. Luckily, we had funds to help (thanks to your donations).

Volunteer Tony W. took over some food, appointments were made to have them totally vetted and altered. We realized they might be hard for us to place since they weren't actually Dalmatians. However, an opportunity to take them on TV with ABC's Bill Logan arose and Mary Ellen W. and Tony worked to make it happen.

SUCCESS!!! The show was seen by a mother who fell in love with them and knew her daughter wanted a buddy, as did the daughter's friend. These cute little 23 pounds sweeties now have new names and new lives. Irwin and Winnie, both go for car rides, to dog parks, and visit beaches. Brittany writes, "I could not be happier with my handsome man even though he hogs the bed and barks at rocks". Mackenzie writes that Winnie "has been a joy to have and makes me the happiest owner". Thanks to all involved. This is why we keep doing what we do!!!!
