Somehow at only 7-months-old, this adorable little guy got dumped in Lake County. He's white with a tiny bit of black so of course we took him into Dal Rescue. Along came Jan & Ernie, long-time friends and supporters of DRTB looking for another Dal to make their family complete. They knew once they went to meet "Decker" as we were calling him, it would be over. It was! Now named Frosty in the Christmas spirit, this little guy has a lifetime of happiness waiting for him. Plus a big spotted rescued brother named Max as an added gift.
Many thanks to volunteer Mary Ellen for her photo taking skills.

As we finish with the old year and move on to the new year, we continue with our resolution to help as many dogs as possible find new homes. For December we had five intakes, sadly however two never got their wish for a new home and crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Pink an extremely debilitated senior from Miami-Dade was abandoned is such poor health it was kinder to let her go though she went gently with a private vet. Paisley was dumped

in a Georgia animal control heavily infested with heartworms, her stay in the shelter exposed her to what eventually became pneumonia which her body could not fight off. Neither dog deserved their fate and we are heartbroken for both. Yet it was great news for the other three who ALL found loving homes, they are Perdy, Conan, & Decker! Plus Dillon & Spike also were adopted into their new homes in time for the new year. Very soon we expect to finalize adoptions for Jimbo & Bryan so keep your paws crossed!
Our year end numbers for 2012, with 16 dogs carrying over from 2011 & 2 dogs returned (though very quickly re-adopted out), are an additional 79 dogs into rescue. Of that 5 crossed the rainbow bridge under our care due to old age issues or illness. Our total adoption count for 2012 is 65 dogs into loving homes. We still have the responsibility of caring for 27 Dals & dogs. ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS! Your help is very much needed. Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:
We list all our adoptable dogs on www.Petfinder.com. PLEASE let us know if you can help these dogs with a loving home or getting them to events so that they might get adopted!

New Year Events Begin with a Bang
Two events we need your help are on January 19th
We have 2 large events coming up this month, both land on the same day, January 19th! First, is the ACOUSTIC ANIMAL JAM. DRTB will benefit from half of the sales of a 50/50 Raffle on the day of their event, so we need volunteers to go sell tickets! We especially need evening help so please let Susan know by emailing her at daldoglady@netzero.net if you can help. They will also be asking event attendees to bring donated food for our fostered dogs so let's hope folks are feeling generous that day.
