Dear ,
Step into the water, wade out a little bit deeper. Wet your feet in the water of His Blood. Oh Step into the water (children) Wade out a little bit deeper, come join angels singin', praises to the Lamb of God. - Kirk Talley
Last Saturday morning we arrived at the store expecting to begin a day helping customers but were surprised instead with a floor full of water. It was covering about a third of the sales floor and had seeped into the back room and office area. What a mess!
God was watching over us as there was little loss of inventory and the mess, although tough to deal with, could have been much worse had the plumbing failed on Saturday night rather than Friday night. If the water had flowed unrestricted all day long on Sunday we would have had a major problem come Monday morning.
Through it all we were encouraged by friends showing up to help, calling to express their concern and offering assistance, along with their many prayers for our well-being and perseverance. No one expressed any dissatisfaction caused by the inconvenience, and quite the opposite, we've been buoyed by the support and words of encouragement.
God does give a song, and all week long we've been humming the one our grandkids learned last week at VBS, Oh Oh Oh Oh wherever I go, God is with me, wherever I go! We know without a doubt that no matter the struggle; be it flood, fire, grief, or anything outside our control or comfort zone, He will be there, right in the middle of it filling our hearts with His song.
Thank you one and all for all you do and for who you are. Without you, Logos wouldn't be able to remain open, serving and ministering to our community in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. It's through your faithful patronage that we are able to share Christ with many who wouldn't otherwise hear the Good News.

Standing Up When Life Falls Down Around You
|
| | Coming August 6 | |
If your foundation is faulty, you will not stand.
We live in a "feel-good" culture. We do things that violate our conscience because we feel like it. We buy things we can't afford because we feel like it. We leave our families for shortsighted flings because we've lost that "loving feeling." No wonder the mentality has found its way into churches. This way of thinking causes us to question our faith when problems arise or good things don't happen as we expect. These difficulties make us wonder: "Does God not love me? Wasn't every problem supposed to go away once I repeated the sinner's prayer with a pastor?"
"Resilient "explores all the watered-down ways of presenting the gospel over the past 50 years that can result in a shaky foundation. With examples from Jesus, along with the historic men and women that once defined our faith, Luce shows you how to build your confidence in God when you don't understand, train your faith for endurance rather than just strength, and develop a solid faith foundation that will last through the good and the bad.

Before Amen
|
 |
| | In Store and Online |
We all pray . . . some.
We pray to stay sober, centered, or solvent.
When the lump is deemed malignant. When the money runs out before the month does. When the marriage is falling apart. We pray.
But wouldn't we like to pray more? Better? Stronger? With more fire, faith, and fervency?
Yet we have kids to feed, bills to pay, deadlines to meet. The calendar pounces on our good intentions like a tiger on a rabbit. And what about our checkered history with prayer? Uncertain words. Unmet expectations. Unanswered requests.
We aren't the first to struggle with prayer. The first followers of Jesus needed prayer guidance too. In fact, prayer is the only tutorial they ever requested.
And Jesus gave them a prayer. Not a lecture on prayer. Not the doctrine of prayer. He gave them a quotable, repeatable, portable prayer. Couldn't we use the same?
In Before Amen best-selling author, Max Lucado joins readers on a journey to the very heart of biblical prayer, offering hope for doubts and confidence even for prayer wimps. Distilling prayers in the Bible down to one pocket-sized prayer, Max reminds readers that prayer is not a privilege for the pious nor the art of a chosen few. Prayer is simply a heartfelt conversation between God and his child. Let the conversation begin.

Some Parting Fun...

What I have learned from Noah
-
Don't miss the boat.
-
Don't forget that we're all in the same boat.
-
Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.
-
Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone might ask you to do
something REALLY big.
-
Don't listen to critics, just get on with what has to be done.
-
Build your future on high ground.
-
For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
-
Two heads are better than one.
-
Speed isn't always an advantage; the snails were on board with
the cheetahs.
-
When you're stressed, float awhile.
-
Remember that the ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic was built
by professionals.
-
Remember that woodpeckers inside are a larger threat than the
storm outside.
-
Take care of your animals as if they were the last ones on earth.
-
When the doo-doo gets really deep, don't sit there and complain--shovel!
-
Stay below deck during the storm.
-
If you have to start over, have a friend by your side.
-
No matter how bleak it looks, there's always a rainbow on the
other side.
