Dear ,
The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. And he said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while." For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves. Mark 6:30-32 (ESV)
We all need to get away from time to time to rest, relax, and renew. Jesus knew the importance of having a time to reflect on things and gave us an example to follow: "Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while".
What is your desolate place? Is it a cottage by the lake, a mountain campground, a road trip through the southwest? It doesn't matter the place, what matters is that it is something away from the treadmill of everyday work, stress, schedules, and commitments. It needs to be something that will allow you to forget normal responsibilities and give you time for yourself.
Whatever your desolate place make sure that you take time each day to give thanks to God for His unfailing love. Lift your voice in praise and worship and show Him your appreciation for encouraging time away, for understanding the burden of the work load and the need to rest. As you worship, let Him lead you to a place where His grace and peace envelop your weary soul and encourages you, relaxes you, and renews your spirit.
So, grab your Bible, a couple of good Christian books and head out for your summer vacation. Get some well deserved rest and let God renew you for the journey ahead.

Katrina Stoltzfus thought she had life and love all figured out: she was going to marry John and live happily ever after. Those plans started to crumble when her father moved the family to Stoney Ridge, then completely collapsed when John decided to marry someone else. Katrina is devastated. How could she have felt so loved, yet been so deceived?
As she struggles to face a future without him, a widow asks for her help to start a new business and Katrina quickly agrees. She needs time to heal her broken heart, to untangle her messy life, to find a purpose. What she doesn't need is attention from Andy Miller, a farm hand who arrives at the widow's farm just when help is most needed--and who always seems to say the right thing, and be in the right place, at the right time. Is Andy for real, or too good to be true?
Deceived once before, Katrina is determined to keep her feelings in check. When a cascade of events is set in motion by some surprising information, the little Amish church is turned upside down. Soon, everyone has a stake in the outcome, and the community struggles to find the best response to an imposter in their midst. Can they forgive even the most deceitful deeds?

Some Parting Fun...

A Texan farmer goes to Australia for a vacation. There he meets an Aussie farmer and gets talking.
The Aussie shows off his big wheat field and the Texan says, "Oh! We have wheat fields that are at least twice as large".
Then they walk around the ranch a little and the Aussie shows off his herd of cattle.
The Texan immediately says, " We have longhorns that are at least twice as large as your cows".
The conversation has, meanwhile, almost died when the Texan sees a herd of kangaroos hopping through the field.
He asks, "And what are those"? The Aussie asks with an incredulous look, "Don't you have any grasshoppers in Texas"?
