Dear ,

Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30:5 (NIV)

Most of us will struggle with an overwhelming burden at some point in our lives. Not the everyday disappointments that come our way, but the heart breaking; gut wrenching life changing problem that can bring us to the very end of our ability to cope. The crisis may be the same as someone else has experienced or it could be something that we alone must face. It could be the unexpected loss of a cherished loved one; it might be an illness or accident that forever changes our lifestyle; it could be the loss of a job or financial resources. Whatever the circumstance or event, when it overwhelms us, we enter into a dark season that causes weeping and despair.

While enduring painful times, it's hard to think that the darkness will someday brighten, but God gives us assurance that it will. He promises that our momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. (2 Corinthians 4:17)   He assures us that His love endures forever! (Psalms 118:1) He reminds us that those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. (Psalms 126:5) The important thing to remember is that we have real, lasting joy despite those things that hinder. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. (Psalm 28:7)

Whenever you find yourself in the depths of despair, thinking all hope of ever experiencing happiness and security have been lost, look to Jesus and give Him praise.   Through Christ, your joy will shine through the darkness of night to a brighter, joy filled day.

Blessings,
Steve <><

Joy is a Choice You Can Make Today
Joy is A Choice

In "Choose Joy," Kay Warren showed readers that they could live a life characterized by deep and lasting joy no matter what their circumstances because joy is a choice to make, not a feeling that comes over them.

"Joy Is a Choice You Can Make Today" is a small format book drawn from the first three chapters of "Choose Joy." Illuminating the life of Jesus--a life that exhibited great joy despite opposition, sorrow, and pain--Warren shows readers that God created them not for hardship or drudgery or struggle, but for a life of joyful relationship with him and with each other.

When Jesus Wept
$5.00 In-Store Only
Our Price $5.00
Lazarus occupies a surprising position in the Gospel accounts. Widely known as the man Jesus raised from the dead, his story is actually much broader and richer than that. Living as he did at Bethany, near Jerusalem, Lazarus was uniquely placed to witness the swirl of events around Jesus.

When Jesus Wept, the first novel in The Jerusalem Chronicles series by bestselling authors Bodie and Brock Thoene, unfolds the turbulent times in Judea during Jesus' ministry, centering on the friendship between Jesus and Lazarus. With rich insights from vineyard owners and vine dressers, the Thoenes explore the metaphor of Jesus as the True Vine, harvesting the ancient secrets found in the Old Testament. Weaving the life of Lazarus, who owned a vineyard, into the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ will help you understand it is the hand of Love Divine that holds the knife, that cuts and breaks with such tender and loving touch, and that we who have born some fruit, after the pruning, can bear much more.

I am a Church Member
$5.00 In Store
Best-selling author and ministry leader Thom S. Rainer drew an exceptional response when he posted a 500-word declaration about church membership to his daily blog. "I Am a Church Member" started a conversation about the attitudes and responsibilities of church members -- rather than the functional and theological issues -- that previous new member primers all but ignored.
Thoughtfully expanded to book form, I Am a Church Member begins to remedy the outbreak of inactive or barely committed church members, addressing without apology what is expected of those who join a body of believers. When a person's attitude is consistently biblical and healthy, matters of giving, serving, and so forth will fall into place more naturally.

Six intentional chapters with study questions guide this rising discussion:
1. I Will Be a Unifying Church Member
2. I Will Not Let the Church Be About My Preferences and Desires
3. I Will Pray for My Church Leaders
4. I Will Lead My Family to Be Healthy Church Members
5. I Will Be a Functioning Member
6. I Will Treasure Church Membership as a Gift

Autopsy of a Deceased Church
$5.00 In Store
No one wants to see a church die. And yet, far too many churches are dying. For more than twenty-five years, Dr. Thom Rainer has helped churches grow, reverse the trends of decline, and has autopsied those that have died. From this experience, he has discovered twelve consistent themes among those churches that have died. Yet, it's not gloom and doom because from those twelve themes, lessons on how to keep your church alive have emerged.

Whether your church is vibrant or dying, whether you are a pastor or a church member, "Autopsy of a Deceased Church" will walk you through the radical paths necessary to keep your church alive to the glory of God and advancement of Christ's Kingdom
