Dear ,
Render to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor. - Romans 13:7 (ASV)
Wednesday, November 11, is Veteran's Day, a day to celebrate the courage and sacrifice of our veterans. It began as Armistice Day to mark the anniversary of the end of World War I.
"To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations." - President Woodrow Wilson
Following World War II, Birmingham, Alabama WWII veteran Raymond Meeks led a delegation to the Pentagon where they asked Army Chief of Staff Dwight D Eisenhower to create a day honoring all of the nation's veterans. In 1954, as President Eisenhower, he signed legislation formally establishing November 11th as Veterans Day.
Fly your flag today, find a veteran and shake their hand, give thanks to God for freedom and pray for those who serve in our military.
To all veterans, active duty military, reservists, and their families I say "Thank You!" Your dedication, strength, courage, service and perseverance in the face of adversity is appreciated with heartfelt gratitude. You have honored America and preserved our freedom.
Dear God, thank you for the thousands who have accepted the call to serve our nation in the Armed Forces. Help us to always honor and respect them for their courage and contributions to our freedom. Remind us to keep alive the memory of those who've given the ultimate sacrifice of their very life in service to our country. May we always have the courage to stand strong for freedom and dignity, no matter the cost. In Jesus name, Amen
Blessings,
Steve <><

Military Bibles
|
Soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coastguardsmen are the "the best of America." Indeed, these men and women move beyond narrow self-interest, volunteering to put their lives on the line for people they don't personally know. They have the same spirit as those who signed the Declaration of Independence, who, with firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, mutually pledged "to each other, our Lives, our Fortunes, and our Sacred Honor."
"HCSB Heroes Bibles" are uniquely designed for each military branch, with the full text of the popular HCSB translation and an extended section of essays, prayers, patriotic hymns, and spiritual guidance. The smaller trim size, durable simulated leather binding, and added inspirational notes make them easy to use in the field. Other features include a special presentation page, the words of Christ in red, the plan of salvation, and a two-piece gift box.
