Dear ,

Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don't be faithless any longer. Believe!" John 20:27 (NLT)

Thomas was with Christ as he walked the earth, he watched as Jesus healed lepers, made the blind to see, healed those afflicted with disease, cast out demons and even raised the dead. Yet, knowing what had happened, knowing that Christ had died a brutal death on the cross he couldn't bring himself to believe without tangible evidence.

Many of us have walked with Jesus too. We have seen what He has accomplished, both in our lives and in the lives of others, yet we don't fully believe. We allow circumstances, and the trials we face on in this world, steal from us our joy, hope and faith. Our faith sometimes seems to rise or fall based on what happens around us. It is far too easy to forget what God has done in our past when we face an obstacle in front of us.

Thomas couldn't believe until he saw the wounds and placed his hands in Christ's side. We aren't much different, we just say it another way. "God if you're really there and if you can really hear me, I need you to do...". It's a good thing that God is patient with us. When Jesus saw Thomas, He didn't mock him or ask why he didn't believe. Instead, Jesus walked up to Thomas and gently said, "Thomas, put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don't be faithless any longer. Believe!"

I think that's what Jesus would say to us today. Don't be faithless any longer. Don't allow what you're going through cause you to forget what He's done for you in the past. He is patient and kind. Slow to anger. He sees you where you are and knows your fear. He is deeply concerned about you and wants to show Himself to you and to provide the opportunity for you to touch Him. Reach out to Him today and believe.

Blessings,

We have grown used to the battles over Jesus--whether he was human or divine, whether he could do miracles or just inspire them, whether he even existed. Much of the church defends tradition, while critics take shots at the institution and its beliefs. But what if these debates have masked the real story of Jesus? What if even Jesus's defenders have been so blinded by their focus on defending the church's traditions that they have failed to grapple with what the New Testament really teaches?

Bible scholar, Anglican bishop, and bestselling author N. T. Wright summarizes a lifetime of study of Jesus and the New Testament in order to present for a general audience who Jesus was and is. In "Simply Jesus," we are invited to hear one of our leading scholars introduce the story of the carpenter's son from Nazareth as if we were hearing it for the first time.

"Jesus--the Jesus we might discover if we really looked," explains Wright, "is larger, more disturbing, more urgent than we had ever imagined. We have successfully managed to hide behind other questions and to avoid the huge, world-shaking challenge of Jesus's central claim and achievement. It is we, the churches, who have been the real reductionists. We have reduced the kingdom of God to private piety; the victory of the cross to comfort for the conscience; Easter itself to a happy, escapist ending after a sad, dark tale. Piety, conscience, and ultimate happiness are important, but not nearly as important as Jesus himself." As the church faces the many challenges of the twenty-first century, Wright has presented a vision of Jesus that more than meets them.

Behind every victory and every defeat, behind every blessing and every disappointment, spiritual forces are at work.

In "Unseen" Dr. Jack Graham challenges popular opinions and persistent folklore with powerful biblical truth about heaven and hell, good and evil, and angels and demons, and he teaches us how to navigate this present world in light of the forces we cannot see.

Dr. Graham begins by recounting his own experience with evil when his father was brutally murdered. From there he weaves compelling stories with easy-to-understand teaching, giving readers practical, in-depth guidance on the spiritual realm. Readers will come away enlightened about the supernatural world and encouraged that God can provide protection, provision, and power for whatever lies ahead.

The Case for Christ
In Store Special $5.00
Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God?

Retracing his own spiritual journey from atheism to faith, Lee Strobel, former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools like Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis who are recognized authorities in their own fields. Strobel challenges them with questions like; How reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event?

Strobel's tough, point-blank questions make this award-winning book read like a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it's not fiction. It's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure. What will your verdict be in The Case for Christ? 'Lee Strobel probes with bulldog-like tenacity the evidence for the truth of biblical Christianity.' Bruce M. Metzger, Ph.D., Professor of New Testament, Emeritus, Princeton Theological Seminary 'Lee Strobel asks the questions a tough-minded skeptic would ask. His book is so good I read it out loud to my wife evenings after dinner. Every inquirer should have it.' Phillip E. Johnson, Law Professor, University of California at Berkeley

Some Parting Fun...

"Dad, I want to ask you a question," said little Josh after his first day of Sunday School.

"Of course," said his Dad.

"The teacher was reading the Bible, about the Children of Israel building the Temple, the Children of Israel crossing the Red Sea, the Children of Israel making the sacrifices. Didn't the grown-ups do anything!"
