As the men watched, Jesus' appearance changed so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothing became dazzling white.  Matthew 17:2 (NLT)

I've often thought about this mountain top experience. It must have been awesome for Peter, James and John to witness such a divine revelation as Jesus was transfigured before them. Can you imagine their awestruck faces as the clouds parted with golden beams of sunlight streaming upon Jesus. Can you sense what they must have experienced as He lifted His gaze toward Heaven and His appearance changed into a shimmering, brilliant white explosion of light?  Do you think their faces were glowing as they came off the mountain? 

Transfiguration, in the American Heritage College Dictionary is defined as, "a marked change in form or appearance; a metamorphosis.. a change that glorifies or exalts."  God was glorified as the Son was transfigured; He was exalted as the disciples fell before Him. Jesus was changed into His heavenly Glory.

Isn't that what happens each time we encounter God?   Every time we truly come into His presence and allow Him to change us we bring honor and glory to His name.  There are a lot of folks walking around with shining faces; they spend time each day in relationship with Him; allowing His glory to shine on and through them through his Son, Jesus.

How about it?  Have you allowed Him to transform you lately?  Give some time to Him; spend some moments at His feet and let the power of the Risen Christ shine through you.  Be the light of Jesus that someone desperately needs to see, to feel, to embrace today. 

"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand-shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven."  Matthew 5:16 (The Message)

We've all had aha! moments in our lives - times when a sudden revelation surprises us with insight.  According to pastor and author Kyle Idleman, we can experience this same kind of aha! in our spiritual lives.
